My cat sympathies aside, bearded dragons are also great pets

In your case, these guys are great because they are very low maintenance. You're looking at about $200 in equipment to give them a good home, and the maintenance consists of getting them crickets and worms at the pet shop, and occasionally getting the suckers out so they are used to being held by humans. Since they are a desert reptile, you don't need to worry about keeping humidity levels up. As said above, they are very docile and are surprisingly responsive to people in spite of those little bitty lizard brains.

Kamuela March 09, 2013 08:31PM

Pet rock. Perfect for home defense. The bigger the better. (n/t)

Demtok March 09, 2013 05:50AM

I keep my pet rocks in front of each entrance to my house. No one has broken in yet.

Stevers March 09, 2013 05:53AM

I have decided if I'm going to mod a cat at all I'm going all out.

ghuljun_thul March 09, 2013 04:51AM

Now you're talking!

MiyagiYojimbo March 09, 2013 06:41AM

Why stop there?

Stevers March 09, 2013 05:42AM

Good deal.

wrathpuppet March 09, 2013 05:28AM

I don't really see a point in getting a cat when the first thing you ask is about getting it declawed.

DurNominator(VIP) March 08, 2013 08:18PM

Re: I don't really see a point in getting a cat when the first thing you ask is about getting it declawed.

ghuljun_thul March 09, 2013 04:37AM

That's not how Dur's programming works.

wrathpuppet March 09, 2013 05:27AM

If you want a pet, but your work schedule isn't suited for a dog

Stevers March 08, 2013 06:16PM

Get a leopard gecko. They're awesome! (n/t)

Frosty March 08, 2013 06:12PM

A leopard in the shape of a gecko?

Stevers March 08, 2013 06:17PM

One important thing to remember about cats

MiyagiYojimbo March 08, 2013 02:40PM

That's what I'm talking about re: cat personalities.

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 03:36PM

Huh. I guess I've always been around crazy cats.

MiyagiYojimbo March 09, 2013 10:03AM

No need for declawing.

TaterPig March 08, 2013 02:39PM

Re: declawing

Quixotic March 08, 2013 01:16PM

Some cats get pretty vicious afterwards (n/t)

Adelin March 08, 2013 01:56PM

Are you making the claim that cats fend off defenders by kicking them?

Stevers March 08, 2013 01:17PM

Puk gai. You don't know. Cat very good at gung fu. Cat know many forms. (n/t)

MiyagiYojimbo March 08, 2013 02:46PM

Nope.

Quixotic March 08, 2013 01:32PM

They would need to have front claws in order the use them to hold on though, wouldn't they? (n/t)

Johneveryman March 08, 2013 01:50PM

Ideally, yes, but they can bite and hug with their front legs while kicking with the back legs.

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 01:57PM

Oh I know what it's like to be attacked by a genuinely pissed/frightened cat.

Johneveryman March 08, 2013 02:08PM

A cat without claws is like someone hitting you with a stuffed animal. Might get you in a bad spot, but it probably won't hurt you. Cat with claws is teh suck. (n/t)

leaf March 09, 2013 04:57PM

Why is there no declawed flaw? (n/t)

Murphy March 09, 2013 05:32PM

Serially, 50% less dam output for a felar using hands. (might be a bit much...33%?) (n/t)

leaf March 10, 2013 08:12AM

Not if they use their dinglers

Batman March 08, 2013 01:55PM

Hehehe.

RobDarken March 08, 2013 01:56PM

If you pay for them to be asleep during the declawing, it's not bad.

(vಠ_ಠ)> AngryFatKid March 08, 2013 12:41PM

No way.

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 01:12PM

How about fucking no?

RobDarken March 08, 2013 02:17PM

My mother had one of our cats declawed he was never the same after. I would never have it done again. (n/t)

ORB March 13, 2013 10:59AM

Get a leopard gecko. They're awesome! EDIT: Meant to post this above (n/t)

Frosty March 08, 2013 06:10PM

I don't think that "convenient" flies in this situation.

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 03:34PM

And I live with domestic and wild cats, I'm fucking Tarzan of the cat forest.

RobDarken March 08, 2013 03:40PM

Why?

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 03:55PM

All my furniture, my clothes, and my skin. I could, sure, leave the cat to be put down in a shelter.

RobDarken March 08, 2013 04:01PM

We're just gonna differ on this.

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 04:20PM

Top notch organic food

RobDarken March 08, 2013 04:21PM

The difference in cat food.

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 04:27PM

Yeah, my cat always tells me how distasteful it is before barfing on the floor then licking the barf until I clean it up.

RobDarken March 08, 2013 04:35PM

Re: The difference in cat food.

Batman March 08, 2013 04:30PM

Due to growing up in the 1980's.

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 04:33PM

Yeah we had other videos to warn us about poison.

PaulO March 08, 2013 05:39PM

There were cats in the room you were conceived

HairyOrangutan March 08, 2013 03:37PM

Misinfo!

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 03:39PM

Oh...and get a male.

(vಠ_ಠ)> AngryFatKid March 08, 2013 12:42PM

You can't really make a blanket statement like this.

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 01:15PM

You generalized that generalizations are bad.

(vಠ_ಠ)> AngryFatKid March 08, 2013 03:19PM

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 03:30PM

It is seriously all in the training.

wrathpuppet March 08, 2013 12:07PM

I have had many clawed cats.

RobDarken March 08, 2013 11:52AM

Nigel is pretty careful with is claws and teeth. Bites/scratches all the time but rarely breaks skin.

Matrik March 08, 2013 11:54AM

Get a bird instead.
