It's trash getting you invested in a character over the course of a hundred or more pages devoted to developing him and then killing him off immediately afterwards. If done enough, it just kills my interest in the story.
I also feel like he's the Jerry Springer of Fantasy Writers. You don't read/watch his stuff cause you really like the hypermessy plot; you read/watch his stuff so you can see outrageous douchebags be outrageously douchebaggey, which is very different from enjoying an intricate story ala Robert Jordan or enjoying sophisticated writing ala Patrick Rothfuss.
