I'm tepted to play a duergar but I wonder if the low int makes it very tedious due to slow skill improvements. I wonder if anyone can tell the difference in hours (or some estimate) invested between a dark-elf and a duergar with all the important skills mastered and heroed? I intend to grind it tilm hero. Also, isn't there an edge to help with learning skills faster?
Although not interested in conjurer / shifter / necro. If I'd go for a mage, a d-elf transmuter might be fun, thoughts? I don't mind prepping. Just no empowerment class (I suck at writing and my rp is far from stellar). Also considered ap or bard or warrior.
I've had a few characters during the last year. All with the purpose of exploring and trying to find stuff so one day I can make a "real character" i.e. getting into pk, cabal wars and the fun stuff. I can get around places, but I have no clue of all the things the big or even not so bid mobs wear, mostly because I can play only 1-2hr short sessions (wife, 2 kids) so no time to kil
So my main goal is to be able to preferably solo explore trothon, aran gird, yzekon (with a group), dragon tower ruins, whistlewood and underwater places. I'm thinking duergar pole//whip whispers/enigma or storm giant shield spec. Which one would you pick?
I'm playing my first pk oriented char ever and the problem is, I got 1 or 2 people ever in my range and I usually can't find them. So since I'm a newbie and there are lots to explore still, I guess I'll just roll a new char just to explore solo as much as I can. I was thinking of rolling a lawful good human conjie noncaballed but my question is, do you think I will be turned n
I'm wondering about the lag moves of assassins. Trip is 2 rounds lag for opponent, 2 for assassin, right? Throw is the same or does the lag vary like in bash? Is throw also size dependant? I can scissor kick flying opponents but there's no lag if you fly?
I read the post below about making all gear non-limited. As a newbie, I don't like that idea because as someone pointed out, everyone would have quite a similar set and that would be so boring. And I don't really mind that vets beat my ass because they've spent a lot more energy on this game than I have and the same thing goes with everything else with life, more dedication, more t
1) I'd like to use the numeric keypad for moving in different directions, how to do this?
2) Is there a way to leave the last command on the command line like when I've done 'bash orc' I wouldn't need to type it again but rather just press enter.
Thanks a lot!
Ok, I got a diamondback rattlesnake. Should I try my luck to get porc/pachyderm/comodo or just stick with it. My other last tier for is already a regen form.
What do you think about shifter defense forms (last tier) for solo exploring? Rank in order from best to worst. And is the major regeneration of defensive forms better than offensive forms? I already have an offensive form that has good regen.
Thanks for your thoughts

Hi, I'm a complete newbie to CF. I'm playing a shifter and I'd have a couple of questions I can't figure out.
Are scales of the dragon useful while in form? How about enlarge, giant strenght?
Can I be dispelled while in form and if so, if my fly drops and I'm on water, does carrying a boat help?
Do any progged gear work in form (or should I just gear for hp?)
If I
