Here is my problem with the system, as you propose: The same players who will ONLY fight with A/B/S, because they want to know how the fight is going to go long before they ever engage... will be far less inclined to engage with the new system. I say this because, while damage reduction may or may not be provided, you are basing it on random numbers that the player will never have an idea about
First character in a while, had fun, I guess, sometimes. Enjoyed the company of some of ya, post and I'll respond. Will stay silent about the rest, because I have little nice to say. I take that back. What I will say is this. For all the ranting going on about how people should be returning more loot and the like... for someone who almost never took anything from the people I killed, I
Okay, how about we try something new here...
Instead of everyone jumping on this guy who hasn't even responded or said anything detrimental.....
Welcome back, Rogue.
(think if everyone wasn't a complete jackass all the time we might have more of a playerbase?)
And yes, I'm back as well, officially with the writing of this post. :P
Having played for a long time, I'll admit that I'm actually intept to alot of areas. I am one of the players that plays mostly for the pk/rp, and I just don't find alot of that in alot of areas. Back when the mud was bigger I had less interest in exploring than I do now (my current character is perhaps the first serious attempt I've made at having a character who was almost
It seems to be a fairly consistant thing. All over the place, people disgruntled about something or other, I'm just curious, since I've never had even a single unfair dealing.
I've played this game for over a decade. Probably closer to twelve or thirteen years or so, and I have NEVER had issues with the immortals or anyone else that I keep see comming up over the years. I'd like to point out that most of my characters receive no special attention, I've never received special skills/spells/prayers/whatever that noone else gets, and I think the idea that
I've played a few druids, but don't remember most of their names, other than Voronil, who was sort of a legend.
As for when you can start pkilling, I started with Voronil extremely early, as soon as I had fireseeds, and non stop from there to hero.
I considered transmute to be a moot point. You win some, you lose some, spaming is far less interesting than killing someone for some
Hmm. I think this was actually with Voronil, or Shalven, but that was back before the anti-lowbie-looting code where lowbies would swarm EVERY fight in galadon and whoever dropped was naked, no exceptions. There was one particularly annoying one who would ALWAYS follow me around, knowing that someone was ALWAYS dying (ocassionally that was me :P). Anyhow, he finally caught me dying and full lo
Yup, of course I remember, I couldn't actually believe the two of you didn't loot me. Also remember that poor poor poor imperial chap who came along shortly after......
If ya say so. Lonik wasn't a hugely thought out rped character, was a more of a take it as it comes, so as far as the trusting issue and all that... kind of depended on my mood! (never played a female character, but tried for the whimsical side a bit).
Khurga was a pretty cool warrior, and I always got the vibe that you were going to betray me, sort of why I always ran off when I was hurt instead of staying around you, even when we were grouped.
Lonik deleted, can't post on officials for whatever reason, someone feel free to past goodbyes and such if you would be so kind.
Had fun, for a while, irritated at the end. Virtually no immteraction was quite irritating, as well, I did wish it, just never seemed to be there, beyond three sentences for godmother, and an indication of more to come... which never came. Love the game, of co
So. Here are my thoughts on the subject, as if anyone cares.
This game has always been, and will always be a loot game. To me, that is one of the biggest attractions it has to offer. If I kill you in WoW, there is no real meaning. If I kill you in carebears mud, there is no real meaning. If I kill you here, it means many things. It means that I have gained the RIGHT to better my gear thr
Amusing that everyone is on the stfs elf build is overpowered, now lets jump on the fear poison is overpowered. I wanna be next! Okay, hmm. I say that pouches of nourishment are overpowered. That and skull rings. Two damage? I mean, look how easy they are to get! OVERPOWERED! Who wants to hop on my bandwagon? Comeon, you can do it! I mean, if you have an stfs elf who gets killed by a di
Just curious, but what is the general ideas for handling when someone decides to bitch you out, etc, on an ooc level after killing them or whatever?
A) Ignore
B) Full loot/sac
C) Pray
D) Respond in like
E) Try to roleplay it off
F) Other ________________
Okay, so I was going through the graveyard looking at some past characters, and ran across something that was kinda odd. Search wood elf bard - Rahalans - arial assassin. Any ideas?
Just a stage in my life where I couldn't play cf anymore, for one reason or another. Too much work going on. There were only two characters I really regretted deleting, those being Paranipus and Shalven. Who were you anyhow, around that time?
I was paranipus, that was before martial trance. I know for certain I lost hide, assassinate and stalk, and about 50/50 on sneak. Viable, certainly, especially since most of my assassins almost never even attempt serious assassinations. Of course, I'm biased, virtually all of my serious characters have been outlanders or the like.
Gave a go at nexus again, really didn't care that much for it. Would stuck it out longer, but had some horrrrrible luck. Anyway, time for something new!
Okay, so some of this might be ic, and I realize it, but maybe this could also be considered like a poll or somethin, who knows. So.. money. Most of my characters tend to be outlanders, or similiar, and I have found very little use for money. I understand the basic preps, food, and gambling, but beyond that... why does anyone want or care about hundreds of gold? Okay, I know imperials, and I
Ugril deleted, many reasons. Orcs are horrible to play, for me at least, totally without independance from what I found. Did a ton of damage...... to mobs. Couldn't seem to ever hit anyone in pk, regardless of their race/class and my hitroll or weapon %'s or anything. Got my butt kicked by rangers in civilized places etc, even though I was geared pretty decently. That, coupled with
