at least I'm producting *some* data to back up what I say, even though it's fuzzy and vague. Why are you focusing on the presentation (your perceived idea of me) instead of the signal (the points I'm making)? The only reasonable way to further a discussion is to focus on the signal, not subjective ideas or feelings. This is a useful skill to have. In Zen they call it beginby zoskia - Main Board
instead of smiling and winking, and playing one scion after another. Ragers are fodder for ppl who can break the game. Only the scrubs and the mediocre think ragers are OP.by zoskia - Main Board
Plus you best PK character was a scion conjurer IIRC, so what are you really arguing for here? Have you ever had insects? The rest of your points are mostly irrelevant. The original argument was, insects or despoil/nightwalker if you want to kill lots of ppl. PkPh is irrelevant. I say, I'd pick despoil/nightwalker *every time* with any class. Bemused and Daurwyn indulge in *linear thinking*. They see despoil and its characteristics and assume that all it does is give you certain number of HPs. They don't think outside the box and *accept* the superficial, instead of trying to hack it, exceed it, break it apart. Shit, I told them there are items that give you ~700 hp for 60+ hours, that can be used *repeatedly* with 0 risk andby zoskia - Main Board
A lot more kills. Bemused is just clueless, it's obvious he's never had insects and is projecting and assuming. It's also obvious he's never had any deadly scions since he doesn't know shit about how powerful despoil could be. So his opinion is worth nothing in my eyes, just a scrub sticking his fingers in his ears and going *lalalalalalala*. Daurwyn is just deludeby zoskia - Main Board
instead of 'it feels right for me'. Remove ravon and and the mummy, it doesn't change anything. Compare outlander *leader* transmuters with scion transmuters. All have ABS. Compare outlander leader vs scion transmuters. It's nowhere near close again. You may be so bad at this game that you're clueless on how to abuse despoil to get a fuckton of kills, that makes you clueless not right. I think giant bearcharge build is terrible for learning how to kill with ranger, which is all about trapping and predicting, since it teaches you to mechanically do one thing and one thing only. Stealth is important when you're setting up a trap/approaching a kill. But saying that deadfall/ignite mess with stealth cause you come out and thus are not good is total rubbish. excuse me for forgetting the specifics ;p I'm still pissed off at you for having them nerf the mechanic ;pby zoskia - Main Board
In the case of rangers, where all of my experience with insects lies since all the outlander leaders i've had have been rangers, insects fills a power void that's extremely obvious at hero. Unlike most classes in the game, rangers are weakened at hero and have no real reason to rank above lo-mid 40s. Insects makes up for this power void and opens up a lot more strategies one can useby zoskia - Main Board
they reflected PkPh before and after they joined scion. But again it depends on timelines, ideally for clear statistics, you want someone to join scion at hero range, which is when one also reaches the apex of his powers, but also you'd need him to be actively PKing before he joined scion. You'll always have dilution in the stats due to PKing patterns, differences in how pplby zoskia - Main Board
A lot of the shifters you mentioned could lag in some form or another or *could chase extremely fast*, even if one recalled/teleported. They know how to hunt. I fought against all of them, at hero, except Obregon I think, and they certainly knew how to play their combos. I don't know what powers scarabs get now, besides the old stuff (but they do get nightwalker) or how they're tuned for leaders. Maybe there's something there that makes up for loss of despoil (and the other stuff). But superficially, yes you're right, I don't believe the same ppl would get the same kill counts with scarabs, even if the playerbase wasn't diminisby zoskia - Main Board
"So are the kills a *result* of the leadership, or did they *cause* the person to be selected as leader?" This should be easy to answer, for those who have published PBFs. Come up with a metric that you think encapsulates 'kill-factor' (e.g. PKPH) and calculate it before and after they made leader. Scion leaders get buffs to their cabal powers, so it's not just genby zoskia - Main Board
Xasivus had insects, some of the best forms and also abused the fuck out of the 100% heal thing that AI did, which he could do repeatedly in less than a minute i reckon. He made them take it out basically. Then, let's see: Halifan, Sehdara, Bueur..., zameida, narissorin, obregon All Scion leaders. You will need to come out eventually as you move around or fight. If you're not coming out frequently => you're not killing lots of ppl. ignite is perfect for cabal defense, you can keep a max number up if you anticipate a raid. it's also great for cabal raids. the cabal edge for it makes it very very strong. deadfall and snare work perfectly together. strengthen isby zoskia - Main Board

"That's not gonna be everyone's cuppa tea. " Of course, nobody said otherwise. Why do you feel as if you need to state this or use it as a counterargument to what I wrote? It's irrelevant, at best. My key point here is that assassin is the best class if you want to learn the basics in the shortest period of time. If you disagree with that I'll be happy to hear your alternative.by zoskia - Log Board
but that's not really what I argued for. If you disagree with my method of "learn the most about the game in the shortest period of time" you haven't explicitly said so. I don't think AP is anywhere near optimal for that.by zoskia - Log Board
and plan on sticking around. You must have an initial impression formed by now. If you think this game is fun (and it becomes a lot more fun once you learn more things) and you see yourself playing it for some time (meaning more than a year), then you're basically wasting your time playing an AP. You know serpent strike has no lag? You can serpent strike once a round, every round, as long as you're not lagged yourself. It's also very hard to block and hits reliably.
