But if you really aren't willing to pony up $30 for something you'll use on a daily basis, Google seems to think there are cracks floating around all over on torrent sites, rapidshare, etc. You shouldn't have to look very far.
Most of time I do this:
Get to 5 (sometimes 5 1/2) in the Academy.
Do the Simon and telenius quests. (I'm usually 7-8 now)
Do whichever boots quest I need to.
Do any other quest that needs to be completed by 10.
Look for eq on ground, grab a few misc. pick-up items, etc. while I have recall. (Sometimes)
If I'm still a newbie or I have hide, observe ships in Seaport.
After that
Most people get their role XP for writing it, not living it, even though it should work the other way around.
This might hold less true for role contests, but even then, most people seem to get XP for having written a cool story, not for acting it out.
I would imagine though that your average CFers doesn't have access to a server somewhere that they're able to MUD from. Where as most of the people on CF who can see an IP probably could figure out what is or isn't a proxy pretty easily. I was imagining the average CFer being a little less tech savvy than you're describing and not having the access to or know how to employ som
Generally with a proxy you have an IP that is very easily resolved to a proxy service, making it obvious what you're doing, but not who you are. You could also use something like Tor, which would cause your IP to constantly be in flux.
I wonder how the Imms treat people who they know are playing from proxies but aren't easy identifiable as a certain player based on style. Not all the
8 full loots in 5 years is pretty damn good.
14 in a month is pretty awful, yeah, but the cynic in me can't help but wonder if your numbers are off a little. Three characters in a month who were looted by "lowbies" implies you were fairly high level with all of them. So 14 full loots across 3 mid/high level chars in a month, all with gear worth getting mad over losing?

Assassins: More specialization between kicks, joint locks, and stealth. I like the idea of giving poisoner stuff to Assassins. The edges that let an assassin focus on technique type are cool, and I'd like to see that concept become a core element of the class.
Bards: I love Bards because they have lots of rape face, but the concept annoys me. I just don't like how a dozen people can

A RL month?

Holy shit are these things over-priced.
I'd tell you to look up what these things cost per-component to build, but you'd probably off yourself. Some of their "base models" start at almost double what the computer can be bought for in parts.
And people give me shit for paying for an iMac...
Ya I feel your pain. I ate something like that a couple days ago through ABS. It's teh gay, rite? I'd get more guys if I was you. Lots more. Fuck his ehrel hole 8 men deep, yeAH!
That Immortal (not Adeg) could have been more polite to you. Fine.
You were argumentative and you made some demands that, while I see no particular reason you shouldn't have been granted, weren't necessary to your apparent goal, which was is to stop playing. If you're quitting, droplink. Who gives a fuck if your character can be logged into again or not? We've had the descr
Consider the fact that there are a couple berserkers around right now who have just about the best berserker suits you can possibly have, giving them some ludicrous damrolls.

I think double util would be excellent for exploring, especially if you're willing to burn edge points on rerolling forms. If so, odds are good by the end of the day you'll have a defensive/regen form and a form that's capable of doing a little damage too, maybe even on the same form.
The enlivens are good for exploring too.
My guess is that since the server is unreachable, something is wrong with CF's server specifically. If it were a network issue, theplanet would probably have fixed it themselves. It's possible they are on a colocation plan which could mean that theplanet won't do any hardware diagnosing or repair for them.
I would think that hardware failure on the server itself or account probl
I completely understand their rationale for taking out Shadow. I didn't play back then, and it sounds very (very) cool, but I can't see it working these days. It seems like there would be way too many ways IC and OOC to figure it all out. I just love the whole cloak and dagger sinister evil angle though.
I had one level twenty-something Master before it was disbanded and it seemed ki
I just think if you're gonna advertise a game on search engines, people assume that they're going to land on the official page.
Even if you throw out the whole "riddled with misinfo" argument, at any given time Dio's is full of flames, trolls, and discussions of what's wrong with CF. This place is, quite frankly, a cesspool full of douche bags. If you can't
