what is that supposed to mean?
I simply said you (as in daurwyn, in a post reply TO daurwyn) were risk-averse as fuck and I got banned for a week.
Not my fault you're a bit dim now, is it?
Maybe Gabe should check on that ban. What do you think?
Also, does "post misinfo" mean you deny the snitching allegations?
just give us a way to turn them on and skip the flair.
I know Umiron sees the potential in MSDP and at least acknowledges
some of the cool things that can be done with it, but it remains to be seen
if they'll find the time/energy to implement any of it.
and just give you the numerical damage., D&D style.
The fuzziness sucks. Better yet, they should implement MSDP (http://tintin.sourceforge.net/msdp/)
so many cool things (such as custom clients) one could do with that.
I wrote an extensive state machine that used triggers/highlights to extrapolate
the damage and replace the damage verbs with numerical information.
It calculated the dam
what does Garm have to do with anything? Why even bring rangers up?
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND YOU.
Comparing Thrunna to Krunk in any way was plain stupid.
I don't care if you level sat for 200 hours.
I don't care if you played with one arm.
I don't care if you played blind.
These 2 are not even in the same universe. My first orc had more kills than Thrunna
in 1/3rd of the time
why stupid? cause it looks good on the surface .
Look a bit further though and it becomes OBVIOUS that as long as edges exist,
the same type of person who multi-killed and/or level-sat in order to maximize his
perceived benefit, will *gasp* either KEEP ON DOING THE SAME THING (in a different manner
e.g. botting/scripts) or QUIT playing.
The assumption is that somehow this type of person
PK is a huge part of the game. It's ludicrous that one gets no edge points from it now
but is instead encouraged to bot and script the game (OBS XP especially
gets fucking old after one does it for the first time. For someone who values his time
to be willing to "manually" waste it in this fashion with each successive character is idiotic.)
They could have reduced the edge p
didn't you watch sicario? The gist of it was in the movie (albeit whitewashed).
The CIA makes a lot of money from the drug trade, money that doesn't land
in any books whatsoever and can be used for various "projects". Besides that,
the CIA modus operandi when it comes to solving problems is to first
throw bags of money (lots of bags with lots of money) at them and see
gear and gold will do nothing for you, you'll still die horribly. Especially as a ranger.
So it's 100% waste of time at this point for you to focus on it.
Here is some ranger-specific advice that is geared towards maximizing
*learning the most in the shortest amount of time*.
First, if you're playing ranger as a newbie, you absolutely need to pick
a DEX build (human DEX or
Your char had everything going, so why the delete ?
Also based on your posts (you keep bringing up "I was X and Y in PK",
"This was my first assassin"), it seems as if you wanted some sort of PK record
and everything else was secondary.
Well, should have actually heroed and spent couple of hundred hours
there me thinks ;-)
Felar has 17 int, fire giant has 15
I keep seeing ppl complain that they can't land anything with felar at hero,
and I see fire giant AP logs that land plenty. How is that possible?
assuming he wanted to do that here, he didn't do it optimally (this is what i meant by not using snare properly).
A different scenario besides permalag here could be:
deadfall south
he wields weapon to exploit vuln
he built his char to exploit ambush damage (max dam roll, power ambush)
he opens with onslaught
if he doesn't kill the other dude outright (if there's no d
movement in CF happens in your brain, so you don't get nausea like with FPS in VR.
Then you get huge FOV that you can use for various on screen displays (comms, inventory, affects, gear)
so that they're visible all the time and changes are shown in realtime without you typing eq etc.
If you've played elite dangerous, it's kind of similar to the HUDs in the ship there. T
from reading most of your logs.
In almost all cases, you don't take full advantage of snare and I never see you
use deadfall. This fight for instance should have been a 9/10 kill,
had you used snare properly and also deadfall, regardless of bearcharge.
EDIT: You also didn't play to your builds strengths. You should have
used onslaught a lot more than I've seen from your lo
lot less players changes gameplay dramatically.
I remember when you had 100+ ppl logged on,
massive cabal wars and so on. As the playerbase diminished,
the rest of the game hasn't changed in ways to accomodate that,
and it just doesn't play the same anymore.
It's a completely different game, still fun, but not anywhere near
as fun as it used to be. The IMMs could make s
plus one reason your characters never go anywhere (according to me) is cause you do exactly what you've advocated for.
Play the game the exact same way you always do, over-prepping, not knowing how to chase, not knowing how to make
ppl overcommit, not knowing how to trap. You must derive some sort of enjoyment out of this since you keep doing it
but some ppl would like to see and experien
plus your build was very very strong, I would have cleaned house with it.
I was surprised you con died but then I remembered you're new to the game.
Defending at cabal inner is a responsibility and you need to learn how to do it.
The Tree is also one of the best (if not the best) inners to defend and ranger
one of the best classes to do it with. If your opponents are not good players,
and I don't see any positives to begin with.
Multiple chars in *opposing* cabals is especially egregious and should be outright banned.
Allowing leader chars to play alts makes it too easy for them to fair weather play, avoid
tough situations and traps from their opponents, *GAIN KNOWLEDGE* with their alts
that they can then exploit with their leader and so on.
If you're not
If you go unarmed to use predator's stance, you'll get seriously hurt on civilized cause
you can't parry and your dodge will take a hit, any competent group of 2+ will eat you alive.
So assuming you wield spear for parry, what is your strategy for serious hurt?
Dervish dance? It's pretty much shit. 1 good hit and damage scaling on subsequent ones.
(You need edge and they
