With a smaller player base uber sets now shine more than ever. Limits winding down as player base dwindles also has another impact of people not wanting to take risks again, its fine losing strange bracers but if I die im gonna lose not just the items there were designed to be unique.. but things that became essentially became unique from the limit/playbase coding.

Used to be that even midst roving imperial gank squads of the day, people would still keep on trucking/playing. Now the moment the pendulum even begins to swing, people just quit.

I'd like to take a moment and congratulate the staff on how efficiently they have handled Scion. There were comments made at relaunch Scion was meant to have low numbers and not be a haven for habitual mage players. You've done it! Congrats.

Whats wrong with it is the kind of behavior it reinforces. designers should have thought about how the players would react to the concept of no power ceiling and hard opportunity cost.
I'd rather APs get strong, be competitive in cf despite dying. Any mechanic that limits risk taking to the extent players only take fights that are a sure win, is a bad mechanic.

For what its worth, I stopped playing APs over a decade ago for this very reason. Reason being, they are much too risk averse to be enjoyable characters and are not fun adversaries due to the requirement to be risk averse.

We all have very busy lives. 100 hours and not having your character at par is absolutely shit game design. Beating up a guy for trying to find work arounds to the roadblock is shit customer service.
Crazy idea: Ditch empowerment/religions/immortals, if you want to be an admin be an admin and help the game prosper. If you want to roleplay, play a PC character.
