That's the one thing that's weird to me: controlling servitors and myself AND a familiar all at the same time. Odds are, if I truly rolled a conjie, I'd barely use the familiar. I'd probably just have it follow me around aimlessly until someone killed it and Con hit me. I probably shouldn't care since it's a learning exercise anyways.
Boring I can handle in terms of game mechanics if it means I can wonder around with an awesome posse to stand in front of me for everything. I don't expect to area explore the 9 circles of hell on my very first go, but if I can cakewalk through al the general areas, learn how to get there and back, look at everything and kill some stuff I'm extremely happy.
With the smaller player base now, my fear of constant PK has reduced, which has opened the door to try experimenting with classes I normally wouldn't have done. However, with the same vain now, it's harder to find groups to rank with so I find I'm typically left to fend for myself.
With that said, if you were going to force someone to play a certain race/class combo where they
I know some don't really advertise building rangers as a newer player to get around, since a large part of the learning curve is geography, and alienating half or more of the world is counter intuitive.....but as a new player being able to hide likea chicken shit at any moment is too much of a crutch for me to walk away from. Additionally, I expect to probably be solo the majority of the tim
Good evening CF'ers!
I consider myself a newbie though I did play around this time last year, however real life stepped between me and this crack-like addiction of a game.
I was active on the boards last xmas time bugging everyone for tips and trades for a new player however alot can change in a year...so if nobody minds rehashing some potentially repetitive data, I'd be extremel
Has anyone considered spending some time and writing more up to date class FAQs for the wiki? Some of them are pretty out of date. (some are even near-irrelevant at this point like the ranger class)
Personally, I refer to them pretty often as a new/casual player because frankly, I have no clue what I'm doing. They used to act as a fantastic guide for someone newer to determine what to rol
Since I asked for a general guide or tip hotline, discussion about specific builds that are more condusive to soloing would also be beneficial. Perhaps I'm being greedy but a little more than what extreme basic common sense would dictate (rangers, sword spec warriors etc) would be wicked.
Thanks again. I know I'm asking alot. :)
Just curious if anyone had tribal knowledge to some tips for solo ranking? Curious for a number of reasons. I can't request anything specific to a certain type of class, but I'm moreso looking for general tips and tricks for when it's slow or you're logged on during dull hours etc.
I only ask because I've seen in some threads people make quips about "doing it effi

I've been avoiding warriors as long as I can since I have some strange perception of them being boring but frankly, the one class that just destroys me is warriors so I figured it's time to stop fighting fate and "join'em"
But being a stubborn ass, I wanted to go finesse and dexy. I was looking at AP's for a long while and loved their maladicting and outright rang
I've found that it's mostly class based than race based. I had a wood-elf ranger and a felar ranger for example. The HP gain difference was minimal as well as the mana gain. It was a difference of 1-2 points in either direction. Sure, over 50 levels it adds up but even still, the gigantic difference in racial stats didn't have as much effect on gains as I would have imagined. With
Wow, so if you want to be a dirtbag, you can create multiple accounts all mastered from the first seeded account to expodite the leveling process. :p
Gay. I wonder how many bots there are creating mass accounts for reference bonus? Oh well, I'm gonna run with two accounts and give'er a whirl.
DRL82 and DRL82b
A while back (years ago) I found a post that had a gigantic master list of awesome scripts written for Zmud. A bunch of triggers and the like. included in the post was a great auto-rewield after disarm and a really nice but easy targetting system.
Anyone have anything they can share on these?
Thanks a ton.
I could see an explorer cloudgiant mountaineer interesting assuming the beefcaked bearcharge is usable everywhere outside civil.
I'm still quite torn however between the following:
felar survival cavedweller, good aligned - so much crap in the underdark. Could go from 35-hero down there without coming out.
w-elf hunter forest - and just explore and PvE
w-elf neutral animist - beca
What would you say the feasibility of a w-elf hunter would be just as a vanilla forester for PvE/ranking/exploring? I'm not looking to smash my range but I do want to be able to level consistantly (and likely alot by myself due to awkward play times)
Furthermore, outside of that, I heard that explorers have their wilderness tick count adjusted so you can spend more time in civil without a
With the ranger faq's being incredibly out of date it seems, I was fishing through logs looking for info on the various subsets of rangers now. (Animists, Hunters etc)
I have about a billion questions regarding them all. hopefully someone
has the time to talk about them!
Animists are sort of easy-mode druids - more finesse and spells. I can't
imagine being an animist as anythi
Anyone have tips or insight about getting these kicks up? (other than "uh,,, use them?")
I find that the pace of ranking is far greater than the pace of which you actually learn them while using them conistantly during the ranking process. I'm a few kicks behind already due to how fast I've ranked up. If anyone has some words of wisdom, I'd be happy to hear it! Thanks
Seems the theme of the morning is helping out the noobs so I'm going to jump right in.
Lately while I've been rolling a few guys to get a feel for everything, I've been primarily trying to stick to the smarter races out of convenience. But my latest creation is a dumb one and I wanted some tips on the generalities of practicing skills and training up your sweet moves.
Is it
I'm running Mudlet on OSX tiger on an imac about 4, 4.5y in age.
Now, I'm not sure what's up, but 90% of teh time whenever I set up a macros or an alias, the moment it triggers, Mudlet crashes.
Any mac users have experience with Mudlet? I can't stand the shell based/++ type clients... I hope someone can help! :)
Unless I'm blind, I never noticed an actual healer faq written by anyone on the wiki. That's too bad because even though sleeping through ranking and healing people on command isn't exactly rocket surgery, I still like examining the FAQ for character creation ideas, especially about their opinions on racial choices and other secondary matters.
I did a couple searches on the boa
