..great character for the CF community. I couldn't hold a candle to you as Shaidin, but I did have one decent fight with you and Zaka vs me pre-hero haha. Thanks again for the interactions and am definitely glad you're not letting anyone talk down to you on such a well-player character.

..but I've seen some very irrational behavior on immortals' parts. That being said they've had to deal with a slew of douchebags so it's understandable. Also, at this stage of CF's career, Immortals are more forgiving then they were in the past when the playerbase was somewhat large.

..if the imms/players aren't careful about handling new players with kid gloves, the playerbase will continue to dwindle and with it the game as well.

When he came back and reengaged and was convulsing? As a serial warrior players, I always loved it when people ate free parting blows, but I just never understood why most of the time. Still not sure why he ate a chargeset when he was that hurt. Sounds like he had a trigger set up haha.

I had Fires with Tobeldest and although it's hard to see where/how it helps, in the back of my mind I swear it saved my ass plenty of times. Great job in this fight and ballsy call on going for the disarm rather then spamming cranial.

..game knowledge goes a long way especially these days with a ridiculous amount of areas, edges, and preps. They're probably logged more hours into the game then almost anyone so naturally through trial and error they're going to make excellent characters regardless of the combination. I'm not saying that they didn't make great characters that weren't in their wheel house
..but the guy just seemed like a douche bag. Game mechanics keep you from being murdered by someone outside of your range, but at the same time, you should show a bit of respect for someone whose higher level. Regardless, I severely hate vultures and putting a bounty on them is more then ok to me.

..but class based tactics, as an example, I'd say that Nepenthe excels at prep-type classes whereas Twist is more of a rock 'em sock 'em robots. I think even Nepenthe admitted that warrior types weren't his forte. I'm sure he'd still do incredible, but to put them at a top 10 level for every race-class combo would be far too generous.

..I would tend to classify people as prep'ers vs non-prep'ers. Prep'ers can take down groups, but if someone initiates the fight with them they're bailing. Non-prep'ers could care less when and how the fight goes down they're going to swing. Regardless, I would say that there is not a single person in this game who can play every race/class combo effectively. Everyon
..I look at them more as warriors who happen to be able to sing songs. Baldur was a completely different beast as charisma didn't seem to factor in quite as much. Plus having displacement as a prep effect on you and your allies rather then a negative effect on your enemies was pretty nice =)
Shaidin was my first attempt at a bard since the changes. I had a blast with it, but I wish I woul
..CF was, is, and will continue to be an incredible game with very unique characteristics that any other game would have an incredibly hard time emulating. CF has a rich history and a core dedicated playerbase that has evolved through different time periods. From the beginning of players from Hopkins and Berkeley to groups from Diku, SMUG, and Neosoft, the game has continued and brought an incred
..I'm just stating how I feel and what I'd like to see the game steer towards. I have a few people who also have the same opinion and would like to rejoin the game as well. I've spent countless hours on CF and I miss it otherwise I would have stopped looking at the forums altogether. Seeing amazing logs does my heart good, but as I don't have the time to spend acclimating myse
In the more recent past, the playerbase seems to be somewhat constant, but for those who have played when the playerbase was ginormous, they can recall how much more fun the game was. So yes, it's easy to be complacent and say this is as good as it gets, but I'd like to think there are ways to return to that prior player count. I also know that for me the player count is the most import
..it always does irk me when people get anything beyond titles for their "rp". If you want to put limitations on yourself so be it, but for the Imms to reward you with spells/edges beyond the norm and then also give them the opportunity to regain their unholy weapon twice does seem a bit much. Leave the playing field equal and I think people will have more respect for the game. On top o
..and I'm not talking about changing CF at all, but possibly rolling back some of the more modern changes to make it a bit simpler conceptually. There are already so many great facets of CF like the areas, cabals, etc. Taking out some of the mundane work involved with prep'ing just seems like a win-win situation for everyone. It used to be that preps were more of an option, but these da
..the playerbase was exponentially bigger. The reason was the game was a bit simpler and the imms were a bit more hands off. I'm not saying the state of the game is awful or terrible, it's still an amazing game, but it's not pro-new or returning player at this point. If it were, then in-game knowledge would be quite a bit less important. As it is now, edges and preps play a huge pa
..my ragers actually went out of their way to not fight non-mages. Also, I would admonish people for trying to kill newbies knowing that they're still trying to figure out the game and that playerbase is slowly dwindling. Although I haven't played in quite some time, I'd like to think my players added to the landscape of CF and weren't there to just be killing machines. Hell,
..you really think rager players are all sitting there like super villains cackling maniacally at your expense? No one is doing that. People are here to enjoy themselves. I'm sorry deathblow has ruined your fun stick, but like I've said repeatedly, try it out. Play a RBW, it's actually quite a bit of fun. Then come back here with a bit more knowledge and suggest alternatives having
..I'm just not playing CF to explore whatsoever. I don't want to read room descriptions to see what could be hidden in some little mundane detail of the room. I play to interact with human controlled players and for the adrenaline of fighting. If there was some FAQ out there that showed me all of the information regarding preps and put me at the same level playing field as everyone else
..but you must have known this was just going to add fuel to the "deathblow is bs" fire. I wish you would have also included how you beat him down consistently before this. Anyways, just out of curiosity, I noticed your stone skin fell, but were you flying as well? I always felt like lash on a whip/flail spec was super nasty trip like lag only if people weren't flying. Anyways, bas
..I know quite a few players who couldn't even fathom playing a rager successfully while their mage types come out looking like super stars.
Anyways, I had some pretty significant masters, one of which was leader, but I tend to like the simplicity of ragers. Don't have to know areas/preps or pretty much anything to play a rager. On the flipside, not playing the other side consistent
How would you know the life of a rager berserker if you've never actually played one? Do me this favor, create this leviathan that can 2 round everyone, get to hero and continue your rampage and do it within the confines of the rager philophosy then come back here to let us know how it went. Otherwise statements about "easy mode" or 2-rounding people and bragging about it are r
I think I may have confused what I was trying to say there. What I meant was that an even fight with a rager berserker generally means you're going to prep up or bring a posse. Back in the day that entailed using all of your damage reduction preps which there were a total of two (sanctuary and prot evil/good) which were relatively easy to gather and if that wasn't good enough bring some
Also, who were there rager berserker warriors? I'd love to see their battlefield breakdowns and their comments on berserkers being imbalanced.

There was one Cadbru, plenty of rager berserker warriors out there. I never said there isn't any credence to the points people make regarding rager berserker warriors, but it's generally the same sentiment. I'd just like to see the view point of someone whose actually played one and still feels that there's some imbalance to it all.

..from back in the wee days of CF, my opinion obviously differs from a lot of people. It's a different dynamic now. Back when ragers were first introduced, the only preps were protection evil/good and sanctuary which were both freely available to everyone and the only rager path was being a berserker. Of course now, prepping is a bit different, more complicated, more annoying and I think tha
