My problem is I don't really know how I do it, I just do. I'm not the sharpest knife in the set(but don't underestimate me, I'll cut you). I guess one big key to steady solo ranking is finding a place with a healer close by and stuff in the area or from the mobs you kill to use to barter for heals. By the way this is a great way to rack up commerce exp if you do it a lot. The other thing is to find things you can exploit, like vulnerabilities. If you're a mage you go to the planar sanctum and use the many wands there to take out the elementals past the portals. When you use the right wands to exploit the elemental vulns you can kill those mobs in very few zaps, remember there are smaller ones and bigger ones for each different element type. Plus you can use the aura, shield, and barrier wands while in that area. Note: there is a different name for the barrier spell in that area, some testing and you'll figure it out easily because barrier(half damage) is VERY noticable. Different classes have some different niche mobs they can kill for big experience. Like necros for instance can take out some big undead mobs when they get disruption and all their other perks of fighting in graveyards go hand in hand with that. Transmuters and shifters get slow to cut rest time in half. I'm sorry this is just random thoughts, I should just write this stuff down and try to make some helps/guides for new players. I guess I sort of always fear if I reveal too much the imms will change stuff or water down stuff to make it less useful. It's one of those "sad but true" things.
I'll try to think of more specifics that could help you. Sorry I'm hellishly tired lately with work.
