I can only speculate how exactly it compares weapons and if it considers weight in the equation. I think so as that would be logical......
But back to my point

To put it eeeven simplier
Ward helps you like this in terms of chances to parry
Giant without ward = 44%
Giant with ward = 49%

Arial without ward = 36%
Arial with ward = 39%
