I never found conjurers to be that much harder than anyone else to fight to be honest, except at around rank 27 or so or if you have a nightgaunt conjie in range and you're only in your early 30's.

That being said, that's no different than a ton of "vs rager" or "vs warrior" or "vs necromancer" or "vs assassins" or "vs airform/offense shifter" handicaps I've felt as other chars.

Play a couple, you'll see what sorts of situations are extremely frustrating (generally involving something making your servitors pissed off at you, killing/tanking your servitors or just plain owning you with damage). Bard fiend was a nightmare for me to deal with as a conjie assuming I had a tough time seeing the bard coming (I got nailed once in Organia by bard fiend, that was nasty). Same with necromancers (since I always played evil conjies). There's a lot of tough fights for conjies but there's also a lot of super easy fights for conjies (typically warriors who don't do a lot of burst damage are very easy to kill as a conjie).

Chances are the classes you play just don't lend themselves to killing conjurers, because if you really play a variety of classes you'd see that some just don't have nearly as much trouble with conjurers as others.
