High numbers does not mean more and better groups for unwanted combos, it actually means more. 10 years ago it used to not be worth it trying to level without a solid group due to a) constant interceptions from PKs b) good combo availability.

These days everyone is playing non tanky weird builds and still want to level, there is less selection of prime groupmates and there is an exp bonus, leading to quirky stuff like gnome warriors and necromancers being much more desireable groupmates. Hell, I have people with 8 levels below me and weird ass combos actually refuse my two man powerhouse team realtively often.
