Upsides
1. Provides Haste (just like spell)
2. Provides 15 hit/15 damage for duration of skill
3. "Resets" maledictions, in that once you bloodthirst they are all still on you but don't affect you until end of the timer
4. Stops persistent damage until end of bloodthirst (no bleeding, poison, plague), it also stops the duration, kind of puts it on hold
5. Puts up any Battlerager abilities not up at that time, or at least Spellbane and Resistance, if they are down
6. Some kind of lag mitigation, others who use bloodthirst probably know more about
7. Some kind of malediction resistance as well or may just provide a big + strength
8. Allows you to go into - mana and - moves. A common "save the berserker" technique is to fight them as another villager and have them bloodthirst when their moves are in the -. Then they can walk back to the village (if they have mana to call bloodthirst).
9. Allows for area spellbane if spellbane is up.
Downsides
1. Attack everything not villager (used to be attack everything including villager)
2. After bloodthirst falls, the things above, "come back", not really a drawback though
3. After bloodthirst falls, you get a "battle fatigue" for 3 or 4 ticks, which is - hit and damage, and you fight poorly, as if slowed.
4. After bloodthirst falls, while affected by "battle fatigue" you regen poorly or do not regen at all.
5. During bloodthirst, no rest, sleep, eat, drink. Also not really a drawback but kind of?
6. During bloodthirst, you cannot tell the damage you are taking.
7. During bloodthirst, you cannot see your hit points or condition, nor can anyone else looking at you. Fighting you will tell them your condition.
