Benefits

Maldiction stuff: So thirst does a couple of things with maledictions. those that do lingering damage are placed in abeyance (don't affect you while in thirst but their timers don't go down until thirst drops). After a certain level thirsting will strip str maledictions but not dex (so if you were boneshattered it will remove the -str affect permanently but leave the -dex part)
*Note that this happens at the time you call thirst, any maledicts you eat while in thirst work like normal

Stats: Thirsting has a hidden +str/dex/con

The duration of thirst is dependant on the veil thickness (longer thirst also equals longer fatigue)

Drawbacks

Battlefatigue is like the downsides of haste as it pertains to HP regen and give -dam/-hit equal to the amount of +hit/+dam you had during thirst. I wouldn't be surprised if it gave you slow like penalties to getting attacks/defenses but if so its not much of a penalty. Honestly the no mv regen and -dam are the big obstacles when in fatigue.
