I get the impetus that it's a key aspect of CF that "that shiny piece of gear is limited so if you want it you're going to have to kill for it." but there are some things that are flagged freaking Legendary that have no business being unique or even unique-ish. Others that are complete crap but extremely rare, and that's ignoring all the nice stuff that's far rarer than ever before. A for instance is an ornate dwarven breastplate or the ornate dwarven arm plates from Mortorn's Elite Dwarven Guard. They're not complete crap but not far off, in general and both are Legendary.

Mobs that con as easy to kill can often tool a newbie who is basing their chance of success on that often misleading information. And in many cases getting gear requires decent gear or others, and that's more difficult than it once was to pull off. Used to be you could lure one mob into another if it was super tough and have it AoE another mob to help you in the fight, etc. but those mechanics were considered an abuse or they wouldn't have been changed. Truthfully, the limitation variables on gear should be revamped to account for the horribly dwindling playerbase. I'm not saying there shouldn't be unique items, but some things have no business being unique, and others don't warrant being as rare as they presently are.

So yes, full saccing people is a major dick move outside there being a valid RP basis for it. Even full looting really. I'm not even a big fan of the hording code being as aggressive as it is, but that's neither here nor there. It really boils down to enjoyment versus time invested. Used to be, the numbers were high enough that an easy come easy go mentality was more prolific. You couldn't corpse guard, and every one dreaded the lowbie loot while at the same time eagerly hoping when they were playing their lowbie they'd come across a decked out corpse. And this can still happen today in some instances. Part of the rush of CF is that you can die and lose it all, but with the numbers as low as they are and item circulation effectively clotted up for the most part, it equates to cutting off your nose to spite your face when you potentially alienate another player. And the ones who will take this sort of thing hardest are new comers to the game, which I think we all agree are needed if it's going to survive, much less thrive in any meaningful way.
