How about a storm giant pole/sword warrior. Pick two of: warcry legacy, crashing of waves, drive legacy. Get perma-enlarge gear. Or, failing that, eat yellow roots like they're going out of style. Get wrath/noremove swords. Walk around w/ polearm most of the time.
Ranger has to deal with:
1. Can't really ambush you or he eats chargeset. So he probably starts with call lightning, entangle, beastcall, wasps, etc.
2. Even if he could permalag you with bearcharge, sword + riposte means you're probably outdamaging him. Also crashing of waves, if you go that route.
3. He can't permalag you well because you're giant (or giant + 1) sized.
4. Drive legacy would let you do to the ranger what Arrna did in that Nado log, i.e. drive into civilized, then spam bash. (Note: sure footing makes this slightly less feasible for the warrior.)
5. Warcry legacy would make you even more immune to bearcharge spam (in that it would up your "automatic" damage) and let you lay down massive flurries. With this, you could get Humbert style kills. Warcry;bash;bash;bash;flurry. If the ranger isn't able to start with an ambush due to your polearm, you probably have enough wiggle room hp-wise to whittle down the ranger before landing mega-flurry.
Alternately you could do Quaduahau's build. Minotaur pole/hand. Stun the guy, call in gang. Voila. (Not saying Quaduahau necessarily does this...just that it could be done.)
