How I would deal with such said polearm guy

August 03, 2009 11:37AM
I'd snare him

prep up enlarge/etc et al.

call 'beast call' 1 round lag and beast will be tanking this also brings me into combat without chargeset since it is a spell.

Start bearcharging

if he is dead before the beast runs away (likely the case) good deal. If not then, I can certainly tank the last 2 rounds of health he has left (definitely the case)

32 spammed bearcharges in 2 logs = 10 bodies to butcher?

Giant or mino whip/pole spec!

The Forsaken(VIP) 417 August 03, 2009 06:42AM

I'd just snare to ambush disarm and then keep spamming bearcharge.

Scrimbul 404 August 03, 2009 07:23AM

I think I need to make this clearer.

Scrimbul 331 August 03, 2009 01:10PM

Entangle is your only option, imo.

A lot more felar rangers than anything else. nt

The Forsaken(VIP) 218 August 03, 2009 12:28PM

Beastcall, ambush, and then bearcharge work real well. Scrimbul's idea would not work - let's be honest, he'd just gank :p (n/t)

Balrahd(VIP) 276 August 03, 2009 11:34AM

Yah, good call on that one. Beastcall doesn't even make you vis, does it? nt

The Forsaken(VIP) 197 August 03, 2009 11:40AM

incorrect

Hakdu 274 August 03, 2009 11:42AM

That could work but I'd like to think if I were playing a giant polespec it would turn against the ranger unless ambush/snare were involved. (n/t)

Balrahd(VIP) 252 August 03, 2009 12:07PM

Tell me this then.

It's nowhere near as tough as it looks, especially for a giant.

See, to me HToS is bad rp for an Outlander.

The Forsaken(VIP) 211 August 03, 2009 03:46PM

I agree

daurwyn(VIP) 259 August 03, 2009 10:21PM

vandalize. nt

Isildur(VIP) 207 August 03, 2009 04:16PM

All I'm gonna say is you haven't played the cloud giant savage side of this equation at all for you to think these are more than minor annoyances, up to and including the melee going south at random. nt

For all of the above, I would avoid the fight or call in a pocket muter to reduce him and then flee. nt

The single command that ambush to disarm gives is what balances it.

Leading with it DOES lose you kills.
