Doesn't mean its not capable of being somewhat clever. I would expect to see a more basic language vocabulary. The inability to tap a higher source of thought. But still capable of making clever and somewhat calculated manuevers. Look at Tolkiens orcs. Or the Orcs in the Drizzt series. They didn't run around screaming ORC ORC ORC, or BOAT BOAT BOAT.
