That's retarded.

August 30, 2011 08:34PM
What part of that is un-Paladinly?

Killing someone? Obviously not. That's what most Paladins dedicate their lives to.

Summoning them to a locked room? How is that different from shield bashing them so they can't move? Or attacking them in a norecall area? All you're doing is using the terrain to your advantage.

There's nothing that says a Paladin has to let their foe escape. Their goal is to kill them. By killing them in a locked room, you could even say that they are protecting innocent bystanders from getting caught in the crossfire.

Welverin 931 August 30, 2011 04:27AM

Could never get that RP angle.

Sivart 589 August 30, 2011 11:07AM

Well the goal is to destroy them, not change them

Quas 526 August 31, 2011 04:39AM

Not Baer Pally's....

Welverin 502 August 31, 2011 09:47AM

Easily my least favorite part of the Paladin code. (n/t)

randomthinker 399 August 31, 2011 10:54AM

He's a Paladin.

Honestly, compare that to Balgrimnr tattoo.

Rhuean 482 August 31, 2011 12:32AM

Since when is using intelligent tactics to defeat your enemies an evil act?

vortexmagus 502 August 30, 2011 11:25AM

Re: Since when is using intelligent tactics to defeat your enemies an evil act?

Sivart 567 August 30, 2011 07:01PM

your argument is just silly

vortexmagus 612 August 31, 2011 01:18AM

"everyone" is not correct. Most. Not everyone.

Matrik 369 August 31, 2011 06:22AM

I'll try to explain why I think it is underhanded versus other things

Matrik 510 August 31, 2011 07:28AM

I understand your point...

The Faithful of Nazmorghul 532 August 31, 2011 11:58AM

Very good post.

Matrik 471 August 31, 2011 12:23PM

Cheers. n/t

The Faithful of Nazmorghul 343 August 31, 2011 06:04PM

Except hes not hiding in a house. Since you can plainly spot him there, it would be like hiding in an all glass greenhouse from someone :P Cf can only get so real before it gets stupid. (n/t)

Gaplemo 443 August 31, 2011 12:48PM

Agreed.

Matrik 373 August 31, 2011 12:54PM

I am all for people restricting their own roleplay however they want.

Gaplemo 432 August 31, 2011 01:02PM

Don't bother with the water skins, the sperm bank will reject you. (n/t)

Wanderlust- 444 August 31, 2011 02:06PM

Re: I'll try to explain why I think it is underhanded versus other things

Java 516 August 31, 2011 07:37AM

Exactly why I wanted to throw this out there. I think it's where the disconnect is.

Matrik 514 August 31, 2011 07:48AM

So when you play CF, do you ignore the "tell" command?

Java 477 August 31, 2011 07:51AM

I'm sorry you are incapable of understanding subjective matters and view points.

Matrik 398 August 31, 2011 08:02AM

I did actually, did you?

Java 402 August 31, 2011 08:24AM

Thanks for not continuing the pointless insults.

Matrik 541 August 31, 2011 08:48AM

Seriously? How many times are you going to go back and forth on that?

Java 348 August 31, 2011 08:52AM

It's not a simple yes or no question, because it's situational

Matrik 515 August 31, 2011 09:15AM

So are you changing your story yet again?

Java 397 August 31, 2011 09:20AM

I'm not changing my story. I'm trying to expound upon a hypothetical situation in order to relate an idea to you.

Matrik 519 August 31, 2011 09:28AM

Ok, since you had a problem with this specific situation in this log.

Java 513 August 31, 2011 09:33AM

The key word doesn't matter. I emphasized it to point out this dicussion's reliance on semantics.

Matrik 469 August 31, 2011 09:46AM

Re: Since when is using intelligent tactics to defeat your enemies an evil act?

Isildur(VIP) 551 August 30, 2011 07:56PM

No, it doesn't. Stop being real world, in cf that's exactly what you do and it's good. (n/t)

alansmithee 370 August 30, 2011 07:06PM

YES! And while we are at it!

Sivart 475 August 30, 2011 07:16PM

Who said "good" in CF has to be honorable?

qurdind 463 August 30, 2011 08:50PM

That's retarded.

Java 415 August 30, 2011 08:34PM

For me personally it's about "due quarter"

Matrik 428 August 30, 2011 10:22PM

That's fine.

Java 353 August 31, 2011 05:40AM

Never said it was intentionally evil or non-good. That has nothing to do with it.

Matrik 462 August 31, 2011 06:27AM

Which tenet of the Paladin Code, specifically? nt

Java 473 August 31, 2011 06:28AM

Mostly 10, partly 7. (n/t)

Matrik 451 August 31, 2011 07:49AM

That is a HUGE stretch.

Java 469 August 31, 2011 08:28AM

Indeed, the "fair" part and the "valor" part.

Matrik 517 August 31, 2011 09:01AM

You already admitted that summoning into a room is NOT subterfuge because they know you're there and capable of it.

Java 386 August 31, 2011 09:05AM

I admitted that "mechanically" it is not subterfuge, thanks to the where command.

Matrik 403 August 31, 2011 09:17AM

You're just wrong. End of topic. (n/t)

alansmithee 359 August 30, 2011 07:26PM

:3

Sivart 438 August 30, 2011 07:31PM

That's because you're a moron. Have a nice day. (n/t)

alansmithee 470 August 30, 2011 07:34PM

:P

Sivart 464 August 30, 2011 07:36PM

I wouldn't call it evil, but is sub-par paladin RP imo.

Matrik 442 August 30, 2011 11:40AM

So is calling upon your God's power to smite an evil being

jmc 408 August 30, 2011 11:50AM

I don't see how invoking the power of one's god is underhanded

Matrik 485 August 30, 2011 12:11PM

Sneaky

jmc 433 August 30, 2011 12:17PM

You're entitlted to your opinion and I mine.

Matrik 540 August 30, 2011 12:25PM

I don't play paladins

jmc 417 August 30, 2011 12:30PM

Fair enough, yet I don't see a flaw.

Matrik 385 August 30, 2011 12:34PM

It depends somewhat on where the flow of battle is too.

Matrik 455 August 30, 2011 12:36PM

Unrealistic in CF

jmc 489 August 30, 2011 05:43PM

Definitely.

Matrik 387 August 30, 2011 05:55PM

Baerinika specifically told me honor doesnt matter, only killing. (n/t)

Artificial 462 August 30, 2011 11:49AM

How would it be dishonorable in the first place? This is perfect paladin work. (n/t)

alansmithee 492 August 30, 2011 11:53AM

In Dragonlance, Knights of Solamnia would salute their opponents before combat, to not do so was "dishonorable." Same applies here.

Artificial 580 August 30, 2011 12:27PM

It's not really dishonorable, just doesn't fit into my ideal of a paladin. (n/t)

Matrik 370 August 30, 2011 12:06PM

I think it's exemplary behavior. You want a paladin to fail. That's stupid. (n/t)

alansmithee 469 August 30, 2011 11:46AM

Not at all. I'd like paladins to fight like a paladin.

Matrik 557 August 30, 2011 12:09PM

This just in! Elf paladins must run around perma-faerie fired to prevent unscrupulous 'stealth sneaking'. n/t

Forsooth 441 September 01, 2011 11:00AM

Funny, but I'll assume this isn't an actual argument. (n/t)

Matrik 363 September 01, 2011 11:03AM

I don't know that I'd call it underhanded.

Rhuean 474 August 30, 2011 11:20AM

Although, I do like this angle. Summon: Welcome, prepare to meet thy doom. Ready? (n/t)

Matrik 424 August 30, 2011 11:41AM

More like...(text)

lightmage 491 August 30, 2011 12:17PM

Probably

Matrik 444 August 30, 2011 12:23PM

Good on you. But I don't know who these people you fight that just sit there and take that wrath spam. :P (n/t)

Jib 431 August 30, 2011 06:54AM
