Learning from one's mistakes is not necessarily wholly related to taking a leap of faith. In fact you should be painfully aware of this from the letters that you presumably ought to very occasionally be getting from the men and women you held on bond and have reformed.
Take a breath for six months, then open your trap again. It's not like any 'oncoming mistakes' can be prevented by doing otherwise, the course is pretty much set.
The last recession anyone on this board would remember is the 80's, if that. I highly doubt even half the people on the board have taken even a basic economics class or picked up a general textbook on the subject in the last 10 years.
In other words better to ride it out. Nitpicking is for when things are on the upswing, otherwise no one can really hear themselves think.
