In my previous post I touched upon some of my eyewitness accounts of the irresponsible reproducing.
The real issue, though, is that wonton reproduction threatens, well, everything. There are simply not enough resources to accomodate
the rate at which the human race is growing. So, I do advocate voluntary sterilization, voluntary limitation of reproduction and voluntary
abortion.
However, the idea that people will voluntarily do the right thing is laughable. With, well, everything at stake I think that endorsing forced
sterilization, forced limitation of reproduction, and forced abortion is preferrable to mass starvation, resources priced beyond the reach
of anyone but the wealthiest, and an even wider divide between the haves and the have-nots.
The fact is that if you leave a fifty-pound bag of flour in the middle of Times Square overnight do you think people will share it and make
fifty loaves of bread? No. They will throw it all over the place and shit on it. That is their nature. Because they cannot behave responsibly
they need a boot on their neck. A person can be a fine thing, but people are crap.
If they're going to act like animals, I have no problem with them being treated like animals.
Then again, I think that most of our "freedoms" are imagined. "Freedom" has never been anything other than a promise that is never
delivered on. Frankly, I'm fine with that, though. In 1965 New York City had a blackout. People were taken very much by surprise. There
was very little crime that night. When the lights went out again in 1977 they were ready. They went berserk. The first time they were free
they were too scared to do anything. They cowered in their cages. The next time they got a chance they caused $300 million in damages.
These are the two outcomes of "freedom."
The last time the lights went out was 2003. It was peaceful. If they go out tomorrow, what do you think will happen?
