Other people point out that an empty, orphaned cabal is bad for the game (which, frankly, should be obvious), and you routinely jump in and blame applicants for the problem, rather than the people actually responsible for running the cabal and the game.
I repeat, again, that there is absolutely no scenario where this is a player-caused problem. If the applicants ARE misguided, then it's b
How the hell are these guys going to learn, if they're completely and totally ignored for the entire life of the character? How do they know whether their take is "wrong" or incomplete, or if they're being ignored because no one is watching? They can't, which means they'll keep doing the same thing until they burn out.
There is literally no way to spin the current
Given that he's not in the log or anywhere else in the discussion.
Just for clarity (and because I experienced similar things to what happened in this log.. twice), the current War master (Zaralv) and recent previous War Masters (Ziryn, Horknuth), have all been awesome, high-class players. Let's not lump them in with the douchebags that are in this log please.
Considering I play in those off-hours, and I've never had a hard time getting into Fortress. Or making Maran.
Korsgaard's requirements for tattoo are tough. That's why there's a statue in the game of everyone who's done it. It isn't meant to be easy. There are things I could have done to make it happen (mostly making it a priority when people were online, and sen
I'm deployed, so my hours are pretty limited to when no one else is around. That meant that most of my log-ins were absolutely dead. We're talking zero allies and zero enemies online for entire sessions.. the most exciting thing might be gathering a random piece of gear or, if I was really lucky, a chance to do an induction interview.
I knew I was never going to get Korsgaard's
What's interesting though, is that your comments then don't reflect what you're saying now at all. Frankly, it's pretty clear that you're making assumptions on bat based on logs and occassionally being a victim to it, rather than first-hand experience.
I think the go-to response to anyone claiming something is OP is relevant here: Play it yourself, then say whethe
That's why all Champions (including myself, when I played one) used it. But it isn't an automatic "I-win" button like everyone seems to think. It isn't even always the best option that a paladin has.
And honestly - The six rounds of lag here is really top-end of what you can hope for. Most of the time you'll be happy to get 2-3 consecutive rounds. If you ever see
Even when the lag is effective, bat spam is utterly useless against anyone with better melee. It's also negated by the dozens of means of removing the weapon. Or.. other things that can affect the effectiveness of bat.
Speaking of effectiveness.. it's really not effective most of the time. This log is an aberration. Go ahead and count how many of the bat attempts actually caused lag
Doesn't mean that something is unbalanced. It just means you can't figure it out.
To answer your question - I'd take a shaman over a champion paladin (especially one without faith or retribution) anyday, 1 on 1. And it isn't particularly close. A ranger in their home terrain could also destroy him. Or a skilled transmuter. Or an assassin that got a bit lucky. Or an Orc. All
Most warrior builds are better at two of those three components (lag and damage) than most paladins.
Assassins are better at all three (or at least two, if you don't include stealth for survivability).
Transmuters and rangers are up there as well.
And you're acting like the utility factor isn't even a factor? Things like quicksand, sleep, dispel, stealth, all the various maled
Focused on the 6 rounds of random lag he did, but not what you could have done differently.
Obviously, this log starts at about the halfway point anyways (both characters somewhere around 60% hp). Here's what we know:
- Fighting an established character with decent skills and decent gear that relies on parry for all of his defense
- Knows swords so can defend those decently.
- Can lag
1. So you'd have to go back to your corpse, manually get everything EXCEPT that specific cursed item, then quit out before your corpse decays and stay offline until it does. That's...... tedious.
That drags archons into combat, which limits how good they are at healing. Still decent, but drastically worse as straight-up tanks now than they were prior to that change.
I'd recommend Elf over Storm/Dwarf due to the high dex to allow them to evade directed attacks (recommend taking evasive edge as well), and extra mana to ensure they can continuously spam heal if necessary (most of the other builds mentioned can't heal in combat, meaning your ability to tank will always be limited). Temperance would also help against riposte/concealed/etc since you'
If you're suddenly immune from IC consequences, then there are no real restrictions or risks to worry about.. this would be terrible for the game. See a heroes corpse? Look that shit without worrying about anyone coming for revenge. Have a buddy getting beaten up? "Explore" healer, coming right up that no one can do anything about. Big bad lich bent on world domination? Not a probl
They pretty much have it all. Detect hidden/invis. Healing. Concealment. Good tankiness. Good maledicts. Good lag. They even get dam redux through martial trance. Go arial, and the only preps you'll truly need are recall/teleport potions.
Easy to solo-level, because they have a good balance of offense and defense. Always have an opportunity in PKs due to hide/sneak and multiple lag/maledi
Disarm is moderately useful in low/mid-level PK. It can be a death sentence in some group fights, if someone is lagged or gets blinded. It also has some pretty obvious uses in PvE and regearing. I doubt any build ever would just skip practicing it.
Poison smoke. Again, this is hugely useful in PvE when you're trying to take down a big mob. Also great if someone is asleep (either strangle
I always thought Templars Defense didn't stack at all, which made the maledicts (apart from bleeding and blindness) almost entirely useless. I might have to experiment with them sometime.
I will say solo Shamans can be very dangerous for a Paladin even with Mantle though. Energy drain is usually more troublesome than dispel 1-on-1, and it's too easy to overcommit and get stuck.. espe
I was wrong about something I thought I remembered from almost 10 years ago. It isn't like I'm intentionally spreading misinfo to fuck over everyone's chars. Lighten the fuck up, dumbass.
