Maybe we just have different play times, but I've found ranking to be a lot more of a hassle in the last year or so than it ever was before. Sure, there are fewer people trolling FoN, Akan, Crypts, etc., for cheap PKills, but then again that still means there are fewer group mates over all, and I've always made a point of not dying to those people anyway. There are plenty of safer place
Outlander doesn't have much in the way of leadership right now. To me, that's HUGE because being a good Outlander applicant for long is a really big pain in the ass. No cabal, including Battle, sucks more in terms of following it's rules while waiting for induction than Outlander.
Also, a lot of Outlander builds tend to be restrictive towards who you can level with. Given the av
Go to and click on the "Alms for the Deceased" graphic towards the bottom of the page (under the red text).
Add $5.00 for every character you want and put their names in the comments text box.
I tend to write background for the first couple chapters (levels 1-10). This covers why my alignment, ethos, class, sphere, etc. are what they are.
Everything after that is story mode, chronicling the characters progress, important events, new goals, etc.
Unless I dream up something really wonky, all of my roles tend to follow that format. Sometimes for throwaway characters or characters I
This might be better asked on the officials, but I can't remember my password right now at work, and I happen to be logged in here. Anyway.
90% of the time we see double XP, it's either unannounced or on a day most people will not / cannot play CF.
Would a planned, announced-ahead-of-time double XP weekend be a good thing right now? According to the users command, Twitter, public
I want a netbook. Looking on Newegg, the specs don't seem to vary a whole hell of a lot between them.
I'll be running Linux (Debian or Ubuntu), and mostly using it to check email and fix emergencies at work (via SHH).
My primary concerns are battery life and the overall quality of the hardware.
Any recommendations? Anyone have much experience with the various stripped down linu
Assuming you basically you mean builds that are going to inherently suck even in the hands of a fairly skilled player who is genuinely trying to succeed, I'd go with something like felar axe/mace warrior.
That's as bad as I can think of without doing something like forsaking certain skills, intentionally not using certain tactics in order to avoid maximizing the potential of the buil
Humbert, for example, was cool because while you PK'd your balls off with him and used some "sweet spots" to rack up kills, you also played him to hero and onward.
Everyone bitches about "level sitters" or people who "abuse" sweet spots while they do it. It's the ones that delete before, or right after reaching 51 are the ones that tend to get the more n
It's pretty buggy right now. There's a half dozen ways of figuring out the forum handle behind the post, and not just when people edit posts after the fact. I doubt most people care to go through the trouble, but if you really care about being anonymous, I'd wait for them to fix some of the glitches.
Because there are so few players on, you get a 7% bonus to learning rates. (That's a 7% boost in IF you'll get better, not that you improved 7% in trip).
My problem isn't really with how people play their characters, it's the people who play characters just to win RCs and get the prizes, and if they don't, they delete and prepare for next month.
Is it uncommon? Sure, especially these days. It still feels like back a couple years ago, it wasn't uncommon for the RC winners to be characters camping the low levels while they wa
I think RC's encourage a kind of "powergaming" in some people. There are a few people who, at least in the past, rolled characters and wrote extravagant roles for them that made no fucking sense whatsoever in terms of their characters age, power level, etc., and were likewise rarely played out through interactions, but often won because they were just good stories. If the character
It should be something like
#alias {wield} {wield %0; $var weapon1 %0;#showme {You have $weapon1}}
#action {whatever the disarm echo is} {g $weapon1; wield $weapon; #showme{I'm stupid for using disarm triggers}}
This is based on the tintin++ syntax, but for a such a simple thing I'm pretty sure it's the same.
The Wiki software Zulg used for his official Wiki back in December or so allowed for this. Users has to register and then given permission to edit pages. Migrating might suck, though.
Some of things WE LIKE about CF make it less popular than a lot of other MUDs.
First of all, the strict level of RP required turns a lot of people off. What is required to get by without being punished isn't a very high bar, but to "do well" in CF, you have to be able to RP quite a bit better and more consistently than on most MUDs.
A lot of other MUDs also beat the shit out
I remember when Shamanman rolled his elf HPM/STSF w/ whip and just fucking annihilated everyone. He was short lived, but his steamrolled 10x more people than his other Fort warriors did just because of that build, and he knew it too. I dunno about today, but at one point HPM + STSF on an elf was literally an "I win (most of the time)" button.
He's making an argument for why one game involves more strategy than other. They're played differently, obviously, but whether it's physically getting on a field and running around or moving little horse-shaped pieces around a chess board, for example, both are strategy games.
It's not like he's trying to get Starcraft into the Olympics. (Although I'm sure South K
