He'd probably have had you if he'd flurried instead of that last trip. So even with thirst, a fight that could have gone either way.by daurwyn - Log Board
I'm seeing it exceed 20 with some regularity now. Usually in teens and nearer 20 than 10. Decently high proportion in hero range. Still lots of stealth classes. Last time I was on, hero assassins outnumbered all other heroes combined, albeit numbers weren't super high then. I'm also not seeing a lot of bad behaviour. Might be because no one dies to me any more.by daurwyn - Main Board
And a lot in hero range.by daurwyn - Main Board
Give me your gear or I'll anathema you. Also, not sure if I'm reading you right, but if a scarab app was submissive I probably wouldn't accept them. It's possible to avoid arrogance without becoming submissive.by daurwyn - Main Board
Why are we not saying who played him? Sent from my phone -- with a very small keyboard.by daurwyn - Main Board
Although I could see a scenario where you force people to give you stuff you want but see that they are rewarded well for their loyalty. Well enough that everyone is a winner.by daurwyn - Main Board
Which is potentially what he's trying to avoid, and why he is asking here. Also sometimes things help with something without boosting your apparent skill/spell level.by daurwyn - Main Board
And lots that I see as imbalanced. Guess you'd struggle to recognise imbalance if you spent too much time with Baer. Dex builds needed to be boosted a bit but the boost was excessive when combined with some of the other changes that went in at the same time. For example, making the hard to parry weapons easier to dodge (in general). Meant that the things that assassins, for example,by daurwyn - Log Board
Normally you dealt with backfist by making it hard for the assassin to defend against you. And you did that by using mace or axe, since they couldn't parry that as well and hence would get beat down before backfist beat you down. Now it's easier to dodge the weapons assassins don't know. So you'd potentially eat even more backfists if you went with mace.by daurwyn - Log Board
There are probably a lot of us who would play more if we could, but circumstances (jobs, partners, spending time with rl friends etc) make it difficult. I'd certainly play more if I could find the time.by daurwyn - Main Board
There was literally just one person on. Not just one person visible. I logged on to that too.by daurwyn - Main Board
Is that when I started, you could only get to 7/7 and that was only if you got the +2 when enchanting from 5/5. But at the time people still talked about how, before then, it was possible to go higher. I think because the double enchant would always work, no matter what your starting point, where the single would cause an explosion? Or that there was always a small chance of a double enchant, nby daurwyn - Main Board
The mud crashed just after I picked up some nice stuff and I wasn't able to save first. :(by daurwyn - Char Board
If drow, spiders grace is good. Also the edge that lets you heal yourself faster. Hex augur too iirc.by daurwyn - Main Board
You hit each one twice per round plus the one you are aiming at some extra time. You also iceball them all once per round (when not lagged), and synergy of suffering boosts the damage. Although not a lot. I basically took the codex at level 36 with tsalantha. Kwoaliki logged on and arrived to finish the prelate off when he was the only one left and was convulsing. I was a sad Panda becauseby daurwyn - Char Board
One, you may not know the command word you need if you kill an imperial for the hell gear. Two, more often than not the ones with that gear will selectively log to avoid you killing them, or only roll in a posse. I don't mind so much dying to the likes of Igos, even if his gear was dodgy, because he spend loads of time rolling around on his own. It's the ones who you know willby daurwyn - Main Board
1. You could enable those with the newbie flag to play stealth classes whilst limiting them for others, of you chose to. Newbie flag has some drawbacks that will put off most vets. 2. Me using the example of multikilling was not "doubling down". It was making the point that banning stuff isn't inherently bad. You can't say something is bad just because something gets bannedby daurwyn - Main Board
I don't know why but mine has become completely useless about 6 months ago. And if you post stuff like "you are missing the point by trying to argue your point" then expect me to challenge whether I have, in fact, missed the point. Sometimes I have, but not here.by daurwyn - Main Board
And I'm not saying that. But that doesn't mean the isn't an argument that it is a net negative. If you read my original post I was just saying that I was mulling over the idea. Not that is reached a conclusion. First someone tried to claim I was trying to ban it, and now got are claiming I am saying that multikilling is no worse than it.by daurwyn - Main Board
I never liked that imm exp was given for interacting with imms, since that can be gamed (and was), but the amounts for good ro or taking risks should be increased. Because you are lucky when that gets noticed. Much of the time it will be missed. So to get 50imm exp is nice but at the same time, a bit of a let down since you know you won't be getting enough for an edge point in your lifetimby daurwyn - Main Board
Sometimes it can make sense to stop something, if that something drives more players away then it keeps. For example, some players like multikilling. But it isn't good for the game.by daurwyn - Main Board
Because they were being abused in a way that the author didn't think worked. And also partly because the gear skews the game more when it is by definition almost all on the dominant side.by daurwyn - Main Board
We have people who won't play because their range is empty as far as they can tell. Personally I play either way, but I can see why others won't.by daurwyn - Main Board
Although you might not be able to see them since they are mainly rangers, with some thieves and as assassins. I was seriously wondering whether there is merit in making stealth classes limited in the way that some races are.by daurwyn - Main Board
Because the guy who could disembowel you doesn't want two rounds of lag after killing you, if someone else will snatch Anazu in that time. So fewer disembowel attempts. :)by daurwyn - Log Board
And having been blasted a lot, mental stat coverage is what you need. On a high intensity race with stat coverage I never died to this. Without it I died quite a few times. Based on experience with psychic vampires.by daurwyn - Log Board
As a thief you can at least prep with resist positive. Think that would help? There are a couple of reasonably easy to get sources for a hero.by daurwyn - Log Board
