But you don't want to be the guy who attacks everyone in sight. Nobody likes that guy, and if you go with Duergar AP you're going to be the guy
who attacks everybody in sight and dies most of the time unless you know plenty of preps. Also, you're going to be the guy that almost everyone
in the game attacks first, which means you often won't have time to prep.
So, if you insist on going that route, it might be in your best interest to play an Orc, which will be in a very similar situation with justifiably attacking
people, will still have plenty of people attacking you, but should have a bit more survivability around that level 30 spot. You'll give up detect hidden,
but that's really not so bad if you don't care too much about dying, which you don't.
What I really think you ought to do, though is this:
Battle Assassin Scout.
The first thing is that the minute you become an applicant you accept that you're going to die a lot. That's just how it is.
Once you get inducted, you get preps on a stick, which means you can spend more time in PK and less time killing gargoyles for potions.
Now, because you have hide, you can get the jump on people, which will give you an edge, and your path powers really help here.
Granted, you can't attack everyone in sight, but if you go evil you'll have plenty of people looking to attack you first.
Most of the time, not always, fighting as an assassin goes according to a script, depending on what class you're fighting. This really helps to get the feel of
the tempo of PK, at least it did for me.
You should kill enough to feel good about yourself and die enough to get desensitized to dying.
My two cents.
