I've always thought good cityguards were a dumb idea in the first place.

January 06, 2013 03:20PM
When a goodie does what he thinks is right, he is not responsible for the actions of any goodie who tries to kill him.

If a goodie uses magic, and this causes a goodie rager to try and kill him, and the mage ends up killing the rager, does that mean the goodie mage should be turned evil?

No.

If a goodie mage does a bunch of really good things and this causes the balance to tip, and a nexun tries to kill him and the goodie mage ends up killing the nexun instead, does this mean the goodie mage should be turned evil?

No.

If goodie rager does something silly and another goodie rager challenges him to the circle and the first goodie kills him, does that mean goodie rager should be turned evil?

No.

So why is it that if a goodie violates the law, it's suddenly his fault that a good cityguard chooses to attack him? Why is it his fault that the guard dies in the process?

I'm banned from posting a legit roleplay question for you all.

crafteddeception January 06, 2013 12:18PM

i agree. namely, paladins and fortress should be held to a higher standard than other goodies. fort pallies doubly so. nt

Yes.

langston January 07, 2013 08:28AM

No, goodies do not kill goodies period.

WarEagle January 06, 2013 05:30PM

Unless you're a rager. Or an outlander. Or a trib. Or get attacked by another goodie who wants you dead? (n/t)

If they feel conflicted. It should be even moreso for a Maran BY A LOT.

crafteddeception January 07, 2013 11:00AM

But we are not talking about those characters.

vortexmagus January 07, 2013 05:48AM

It's your responibility to not kill them. Simple. Thought in your travels.

crafteddeception January 07, 2013 05:51AM

I don't see it that way, nor does most of the MUD. If it were like that, goodie ragers, outlanders, and tribunal would not exist~ (n/t)

Petition with the immortals. It's how it is.

He didn't get wanted by choice. Everything you say is wrong.

alansmithee January 06, 2013 06:29PM

those cityguards, always attacking good-aligned folk. such poor role-play on their part. they should have their align changed to neutral. nt

Isildur(VIP) January 07, 2013 04:30AM

I suggested that literally more than a decade ago. (n/t)

I have uninducted people for their reaction after killing a goodie mob.

And you shouldn't have been instantly removed as leader of Nexus every time you killed someone who was on the weak side of Balance?

istirith January 06, 2013 05:41PM

Respect != Obey. If they wanted people to be bound by tribunal law, they would say so, and also not let paladins be neutral instead of lawful. (n/t)

alansmithee January 06, 2013 09:05PM

there is no more "lawful"; only "orderly". nt

Isildur(VIP) January 07, 2013 04:26AM

yeah, I know, my point is they are not required to be orderly anymore, they can be neutral. tribunal law is not required to be obeyed. (n/t)

alansmithee January 07, 2013 06:49AM

And there is no more good, only PKW (n/t)

NbM(VIP) January 07, 2013 05:00AM

Semi-accidentally killing a few cityguards while WANTED isn't worth unempowerment.

DurNominator(VIP) January 06, 2013 02:32PM

Eh. I disagree. They should consider that before being wanted. (n/t)

Borkahd January 06, 2013 03:30PM

Shouldn't you unempower the paladin for getting a wanted flag then?

DurNominator(VIP) January 07, 2013 03:23AM

If it is a habitual issue, stick it in their ass. =) (n/t)

Borkahd January 07, 2013 03:56AM

Batman January 07, 2013 04:01AM

I always did with my goodies. Well, except Ghrim. Only goodie guards I never tried to kill with Ghrim were dwarves :)

Re: Semi-accidentally killing a few cityguards while WANTED isn't worth unempowerment.

crafteddeception January 06, 2013 02:59PM

Considering your excessively strict interpretation of Nexus balance solely to full sac people with your permas you really shouldn't be posting about Fort.

Scrimbul January 06, 2013 01:53PM

It's also a bias towards limited selection of targets.
