It was badly phrased, but I meant they won't be wasting time/effort with things like luxury goods, or unncessary travel.
How does the US differ from other industrialized nations?!?!?
Dude, if consuming 1/4 of the world's oil a day and refusing to sign the kyoto protocol because they like polluting doesn't clue you in - try the immensely wasteful attitude of all of America's industries that have yet to be regulated anything like the ones in Europe, Japan, Australia and the rest of western society. The US is a leading polluter and while China might make it look good - everyone else uses the US to make themselves feel better about polluting as much as they do :P Don't kid around - the US is terrible in the environmental department. It has purposely dodged most efforts to the contrary and progresses slower than any other western country in the right direction. Although mad props to Al Gore, I sincerely hope he's influenced you as much as he's influenced Britain's attitude. His documentary wasn't mocked (or his facts widely disputed) by industrial lobbyists with big wallets here, it was taken quite seriously and is shown in all public schools as part of a science curriculum. Thank you, Mr.Gore, you almost make up for the US' pacific plastic problem.
Edit: And if the US hadn't spent the better half of the last century pissing off other countries, they likely wouldn't feel the need to bomb them. You know, it is tit for tat here. It's not like the revolutionaries declared Jihad just because America was cooler than their country. They did it because you killed and full looted them and they ran out of puppies.
