1. No, Engurd. Lactic acid has most likely nothing to do with it.
Yes it very likely does.

2. No, everyone. Diet probably does not matter at all for DONS. It is however nice to keep a high protein intake if you are lifting weights.
Just read the wiki-link about the eccentric phase (hard to avoid though).

But it matters for the weight loss he seeks.

3. No, Stevers. Glutamine is a waste of money unless you are anemic and recovering from surgery. No studies have found any effect in healthy training individuals.
4. No, Stevers. While creatine will make you add water you will also add strength which will make you perform better at the gym. You can use it even when cutting and if you feel like you want to get harder you just stop taking it.
1. Yes, Stevers, glutamine is a good supplement to take. It isn't used to help recover from surgery, it lessens the overall damage done to your muscles from whatever would have caused damage in the first place. It is given before you get into an ambulance after, say, a car crash, when you are likely going to lose a lot of muscle and not be active. It helps retain the muscle you already have. It's also useful for getting "cut."
2. Creatine is a complete waste. It bulks you up fast, but the bulk goes away seemingly just as fast as it came the moment you stop taking the supplement. It's not good for getting cut, or cutting, because it adds pure bulk.
Strength trainging != endurance training.
Getting cut doesnt come with strength training.
