From the wikipedia-link:

How many times does Jalim have to say it? STOP POSTING ABOUT WIKIPEDIA. The government is going to be pissed.

But if you rather have it from Stephen M. Roth, a professor in the department of kinesiology at the University of Maryland:

I would. That is, if kinesiology were real science.

Rather, the production of lactate and other metabolites during extreme exertion results in the burning sensation often felt in active muscles, though which exact metabolites are involved remains unclear. This often painful sensation also gets us to stop overworking the body, thus forcing a recovery period in which the body clears the lactate and other metabolites.

I didn't know that about lactic acid, that is new information to me. Thanks.
Also, pay attention to:

Sounds like lactic acid does play a part in muscle soreness. Even if it doesn't cause the soreness itself, but it does play a role in the soreness.

50cent quoting Stevers
>1. Yes, Stevers, glutamine is a good supplement to take. It isn't used to help recover from surgery, it lessens the overall damage done to your muscles from whatever would have caused damage in the first place. It is given before you get into an ambulance after, say, a car crash, when you are likely going to lose a lot of muscle and not be active. It helps retain the muscle you already have. It's also useful for getting "cut."

Ok, Stevers. Feel fine to give any citation on that. You know...science. Like this:

Effect of glutamine supplementation combined with resistance training in young adults
Darren G. Candow, Philip D. Chilibeck, Darren G. Burke, Shawn K. Davison and Truis Smith-Palmer

"We conclude that glutamine supplementation during resistance training has no significant effect on muscle performance, body composition or muscle protein degradation in young healthy adults."

Truis Smith-Palmer? That guy is a notorious crack-pot. He's never produced any accurate information. GREAT citing job, buddy. Cell Biology, among other websites that cover different weight supplements (of which there are an overwhelming amount if you search for benefits of glutamine), are contrary to what you posted. I'm at work right now, but I'll gladly cite post research about it when I get home.

>2. Creatine is a complete waste. It bulks you up fast, but the bulk goes away seemingly just as fast as it came the moment you stop taking the supplement. It's not good for getting cut, or cutting, because it adds pure bulk.

Quote
You
Creatine adds water and therefore some will gain some weight. But that water is what makes it possible to train harder in the gym and thus get result. It is pretty much the most well research and supported legal supplement there is. If you want to get cocky about a subject you should at least know the basics.

This is a bold statement coming from someone who cited Truis Smith-Palmer. Creatine is well documented to get "more results." You pack on bulk. And, yes, water. Bulk does not promote lower weight. Neither does the added water.

Quote
Wow you sure love quoting me
>Strength trainging != endurance training. Getting cut doesnt come with strength training.

Quote
guess who, you
Getting cut comes with diet. The percentage of muscles you keep is decided by weight training and thus that is of course the most important thing for strength and looks. Endurance training can be good if you need to burn calories and don't want to reduce your intake anymore or just for general fitness/heart health.

Implying endurance training doesn't also build strength. Getting cut comes with diet and exercise. You just said endurance is good to burn calories, too. Sounds like that's good for getting cut.

Why did you even reply? I must have worked you over with one of my previous posts to get you so upset.

pls respond

Stevers March 28, 2012 01:15PM

Glutamine is especially important for determining whose butt is whose.

Matrik March 28, 2012 12:56PM

I can see how this would be useful post-surgery. n/t

Stevers March 28, 2012 12:58PM

Sigh, stop posting so fast and without indicators. You're messing up the count. Now it has to start over. (n/t)

Matrik March 28, 2012 12:59PM

starbright March 27, 2012 04:48PM

I can vouch for a lot, here.

Splntrd March 27, 2012 11:12AM

This is because of the lactic acid.

Engurd March 27, 2012 09:29AM

Wow, excellent post.

Stevers March 27, 2012 09:46AM

Muscle ache is normal, especially when you first start a routine. It means your muscles are rebuilding.

Jib March 27, 2012 07:41AM

This is true.

DurNominator(VIP) March 27, 2012 08:01AM

silly metric

Quas March 27, 2012 06:25AM
