While you're pointing fingers at health insurance companies, might as well point a finger at the American Medical Association for driving up health care costs too:

There is lots and lots of blame to go around. The problem is, it is hard to legislate morality. Immoral people will always find loopholes or use the legal system itself to take advantage of others. You have to either completely remove power from the legal system so taxes, fines, police, armies, and jails can't be used selfishly, or you have to change the culture of the whole nation as to care. Right now I'm pretty skeptical of politics in general. Any time a law is passed, I'm wondering which businesses are the winners and which are the losers.
"The problem is that to many people think they know what's best for the rest of us." I agree. What if you would like the option to not participate in the banking, housing, or health systems? Too bad they are increasingly tied to the legal system where I have no option to not participate.
