Lots of people (myself included) don't follow one basic trick of getting kills. The trick is: your victims are less likely to flee if they think they have a chance. As such, if you always prep then your enemies avoid you unless they're prepped too, and when you're both prepped, the damage output is so low that whoever wins can't seal the kill. Most kills are gotten by unpreppeby Murphy - Main Board

Funny thing, in most fantasy settings, elves are magical creatures and cold-forged iron ruins magic and that's why they're afraid of it. CF has distorted it into a completely different story, but still, from the helpfile: "Elven Society does not believe in killing or destruction as an end to itself" and that even forbids them choosing certain classes, but doesn't forby Murphy - Log Board

Just like the basics of CF, the basics of a language are easy, but you need to actually work on learning them and most people aren't motivated to. Just like mastering CF, mastering a language takes a lot of time and there is no way to circumvent the timesink. And many people don't like that.by Murphy - Main Board

Instead of wasting their potential on variability, they build their character around one powerful tactic. And it works. Examples are: bash, bash, flurry ambush, snare, ambush neuro, soften, disrupt quicksand, damaging spells backstab, cheap shot, parting block sleep, maledict, wait entwine, call bloodthirst stalk, assassinate, vanish etc etc None of these tactics work on every enemy,by Murphy - Char Board

You have the awesome power of ignore at your disposal. I used it very liberally when I played a scribe and scions (and a certain drillmaster) tried to tell me how weak I am. Bad scribe, I should have talked them all to death with tales of redemption.by Murphy - Main Board
