> While I understand Shokai's point about Arbiter Imms having a difficult job, it is unfair to arbitrarily blame the players for the collapse of the cabal and exonerate the Arbiter Imms of any responsibility in it's failture. What really finished it off, was the departure of Justin, one of the BEST and most respected Imms. If you're going to hold this argument out, then I highly resent being held accountable for the downfall of Knights, that's just VERY offensive to me...is it untrue *shrug* I don't know, maybe the blame lies equally spread across players and immortals backs, if so I say that's makes the already nightmarish job of being an Arbiter immortal even uglier. > While Justin maintained standards and discipline, you never, ever got the feeling that he got his jollies torturing you, like Astein, and he made sure he was on often, inducted frequently, answered questions, seemed to actually give a shit about the cabal, and wanted it to succeed. Bria, to be honest, was often absent, seemed to be less than enthusiastic about being in charge, and was probably put there because noone else wanted the job at the time. Check Astein's role, notice that even when he was a mortal he leaned towards the crueler edge of things...ever think maybe a DARK-ELF would be a little twisted? I understand what you're saying, I just think (not to belittle Justin's contribution in the slightest, he was a wonderful immortal) that you miss a lot of the behind the scenes action, and what goes on while noone is looking *shrug*. > Had it not been for Justin's leadership and hard work, the cabal would of fallen apart sooner than it did. Without him, it's no wonder the players got tired of the often absent and harsh leadership that the remaining Imms displayed. Oh ye of little faith, that's like saying that when Cador became more withdrawn from Knights it would've collapsed instantly. As for the harsh leadership *shrug* not everyone can play the fatherly immortal, not everyones role is to play the fatherly immortal. Keep in mind that we do attempt to roleplay when we're allowed. > If Justin could do what is admittidly a harsh and demanding job, yet still have a good attitude that inspired the players and kept morale high, should we expect any less from the current leadership? Would you expect me to code as well as Jullias, or Nepenthe? Would you expect me to be as creative and amazing to interact with as Scarabaeus? Dear god, I hope not, because if you do I'm going to fall short of your expectations by a long shot. Some of us excel at some things, and others at other things. So the current trio aren't a group of warm fuzzy, gentle-handed immortals...*shrug* c'est la vie. Arbiters has never been a warm fuzzy cabal. > -An Old Arbiter Before I go I would like to say that I do appriciate that you didn't tear into the other immortals, much. Just for everyone reading this I'd also like to point out, we are human, we do have feelings...doing your best to keep a free game running and spending a lot more time doing administrative things is toilsome enough without having people call you 'the worst immortal' or saying 'I'd join that cabal if you left'....think about someone other than yourself for a change, before you post...hmm?
