The interesting part about this video for me is not that it pointed out a success or flaw in CF (although there is something there probably), but rather helped me understand why I don't enjoy stealth classes: I'm not trying to solve a puzzle... I believe I already have the solution and am just waiting to execute it. Often with a ranger I'll see a ranking group in a wilderness area, or worse, in a civilized area, but I'll basically just run in and strike rather than wait for a moment when striking would be most advantageous. It's why I've never done a successful assassinating assassin (just fucking throw them to death, right?) and why I've hated neo thieves since their inception. I'm not trying to play an disempowered character overcoming the odds through stealth... I'm playing basically power fantasy character *with* stealth. And that isn't the right mindset.
Which makes my current so fascinating, in that I ended up in the general area of the right headspace, but have to constantly remind myself that I'm not actually trying to kill people 99% of the time... Now I know I'm really puzzle solving how to get them dead in a situation where my lowly thief can't do it themselves directly in the vast majority of cases.
