Nice CGI.
Tyson is a decent storyteller, almost a great one.
Dogs were selected for their cuteness? What evidence is that based on? I know when foxes were bred purely for tameness and friendliness, their appearance changed too (e.g. they wagged their tails, ears floppy). My guess is that the animal genes for cuteness are either directly tied to their friendliness, or their cuteness has a subconscious effect on humans so that we bring out their friendliness more.
The scientists theorize it is based on adrenaline. I'd love to hear about what he's basing this on, but my guess is he's making it up so it fits the narrative he wants to tell. Not a big deal, but shows me how serious this "science" show is.
Tyson is getting better as this progresses.
Are there a ton of religious connotations in this thing or is it just me? "the faithful shepherd" "if life has a sanctuary" "the ancient scripture"
DNA talk is getting boring, but I'm trying very hard to pay attention to see how mutations happen. Oh, "nobody is perfect' "random change" "entirely random". Zzzz.
"tree of life". Really? and what is it based on--arbitrary scientific definitions?
It would be awesome if we really could travel across time to a time before there were eyes. That'd settle all this in a heartbeat. I guess CGI and Tyson's narration will substitute. Note to self: google evidence for evolution of the eye later.
Ah, yes, "spiritual experience". At least he's honest about it. Can I stop watching now?
I want to make CF characters with a name derived from extinction events. That'd be epic.
You know we're going to look back at this video series in 150 years and laugh, right?
"the greatest story science has ever told". This is much funnier than I thought it would be.
The animation at the end is cute, but I thought evolutionists had already
distanced themselves from the image of linear progression?
I give it 6/10 stars. High production value and decent story but I would have liked it more if he presented it all as his belief and less as though coming straight from God. Doubt I'll watch anymore unless the cover a topic that really interests me. I liked the Nye vs Ham debate a lot more, and I don't fully agree with either of them.
