The client does not need to transmit everything at the end of each pulse. It could just transmit all changes (for example in affects) at the end of each pulse. Alternatively, one could use another port as emptyhat has suggested.
Either way, as a player you would not loose any pulse - I was not talking about writing a complicated mud client for the current version of the game but rather how min
A serious graphic based game needs to be installed on a serious computer. This means:
a) you cannot play it from work in your lunch break if you cannot install it on your work desktop. You cannot play it from a library computer, etc, etc.
b) you cannot play it from your ipad/notepad.
On the other hand a mud per se does not need much in terms of either computing power or disk space, only an i
Analysis: The assassin got two to three skills off (two kote + potentially mark). Your bearcharges while effective in landing (he did not evade any) did not lag all that long. You were quite lucky he stayed so long and died as a result. (As the assassin marking the ranger, fleeing, recovering, then returning, enlarging, and attacking is a very natural strategy.)
Bearcharge is what your build i
If experience loss is something that matters to you just play a class that can rank solo easily, for example, assassin, ranger, dexy sword specialist, felar spear, etc.
I do not believe the experience penalty puts you behind in pk. That used to be the case once but not anymore.
The game became less fun.
The first thing is the smaller player base which affects almost all aspects of the game: harder to find people to pk, harder to level to hero, harder to find people with truly interesting roleplay...
The second thing is a number of time sinks that have been introduced. For example, for many classes there are edges that will seriously affect pk and if you want to g
killed a number of people before level 20 ( perhaps a good dozen? ) praying after each kill and got empowered.
After that I ranked up until I reached a state where I could no longer practice supplications (it turned out I was empowered until this big damage commune old shamans used to get, the usual cutoff point for a two stage empowerment process) I started killing again, attempting to repeat
If you are jelous of that gear just sit in Evermoon and ask one of the heros getting preps there to through you the gear. It will take time but eventually somebody will give it to you (without any OOC interactions).
You are overestimating the importance of dragon gear. A good weapon (especially exploiting a vulnerability) matters but whether somebody sports 17 damage without dragon gear or 22
Ranking on mobs in a group at least
(i) is a somewhat social experience (occasionally there is enjoyable rp, even if not it is a way to get to know people and build IC friendships)
(ii) allows others to attack your ranking group thus increasing their (and occasionally also yours) pk fun
(iii) allows newer players to see skills/spells of other classes, ask about gear, etc.
On the other hand
It could be that you spam just once command but there is still a huge variance in success between players coming from other factors like gear or edges which has nothing to do with what commands you use but varies between players depending on in-game knowledge.
Immagine 2 ports.
One port works as the current one so people can continue playing as before. The other ports work similarly but also sends additional information that is marked with a special symbol so that the client understands that this is not information to be displayed but rather information for the client to update available buttons, displayed timers, etc.
This way, for example when
(i) You cannot expect a new player to learn a trigger-language, search old logs for various things, and then set up triggers for them.
(ii) In addition, a lot of information that would be needed for this to work nicely is not available. For example, one would need to get from the server information about the visible people in the room, so that your clients can offer you buttons to attack/inter
Most classes only use a few commands/skills so it should be easy to create an app to present those as buttons.
So essentially you need like 6-7 buttons for skills/spells and something to select targets from those present in the room.
Generic emotes are also straightforward.
Yes, customized emotes and speaking is harder (although typing on an pad is not that much slower) so it should be
As an evil or neutral I will usually make the ap do something to regain it as a goodie ignore it unless the player behind the ap pissed me off. Seems like more fun for all involved this way.
Edit: Not trying to suggest that you avoid fights. However, it is not easy to seal a kill as a shapeshifter if your opponent is careful and experienced. Given that you had an army blind + rescue would have worked also most likely.
Thick hide lets you occasionally ignore attacks, but is worse in terms of defense than dodge since you get hit a lot by low level mobs. This is true also with the edge. As a result the form is good with wands but sucky without. (Occasionally evading a furry does not help if regular attacks own you.)
Furor is useless. Since rake lags for one round it will almost always better in terms of damag
