I get bored of characters very easily, so most of them just never reach the point where they become significantly known. Also, I often find no sense in taking credit for characters unless I want to make a point about thanking someone or commenting openly about another character. I once took credit for an irrelevant explore shifter just to thank a few people who really helped with wand finding.
Hahaha man, I just posted about this on the officials right before seeing this.
Oh and Solec, you definitely had the support of the up and coming Nexuns at the time. How many freaking characters did you help hero during those 800+ hours? Insane dedication considering how many of those hours you only had armadillo/porcupine.
The way I see it, all of the positive elements of Christianity are obvious truths of peaceful coexistence that predate the religion itself.
If the main element you share with the religion in your personal life is belief in a higher power, that in itself is not a problem. I don't even consider it completely irrational, because even though there's no real evidence in support of it, th
I think that a large part of the reason he uses Christianity's history against you is in hopes you'll come to see the religion in its proper perspective.
I just think he's tired of dealing with the undue weight given to the Christian belief system in parts of the world where it happens to be the prominent religion. Regardless of how many people hold a particular belief, that belief must stand on its own merits.
Not that Christianity is alone in this matter. If you take the time to study history and the world around you, and examine the e
Religious debate is very, very problematic. Typically, atheists who view religion as archaic and a blight on the world are of the opinion that it's nearly impossible to sway the mind of believers through rational debate. After all, faith is by definition irrational. So either he's attempting to 'break' you through citing extreme examples and forceful argumentation, or he
Going into marriage and claiming that you're going to be able to live the rest of your life with someone, without knowledge of a significant aspect of the 'rest of that life'? And it's even worse because typically those couples haven't even lived together before. That's just mind boggling to me.
Though keep in mind I'm not trying to say that most other ma
Haha... Get it, beLABOR? HILARIOUS.
Anyway, the secular argument against abortion is more basic than that. Most of us (humans) just feel bad about the destruction of life. Humans generally have this thing called empathy, and they don't need the threat of divine punishment to use it. While abortion is obviously nowhere near the same thing as killing a fully formed and functional human
I'm even against all forms of capital punishment. But I can definitely see why people lose hope for humanity.
I argue for and hope toward a utopian future, given the amazing things technology could eventually provide. But realistically, with the world the way it is, I have almost no hope for anything resembling that happening in my lifetime. It's certainly more likely that humans
Consider that somewhere around ~6 million years ago there was a common ancestor shared by both humans and chimpanzees. That ancestor was likely no more intelligent than a chimp is today, and yet humans have diverged significantly from it. The further you go back, the more species diverge. Eventually you're talking about a ridiculous number of organisms that did not develop their intellige
But it's not for 'no reason', which makes things even more unfortunate. Even the smallest amount of empathy and respect for other people, the future, sustainability, etc would prevent most of the destruction in the first place. Sadly, we - at the very least those of us living in the US - live in a culture that glorifies the type of selfish attitude that causes people to fuck up t
I was trying to make the point that, in evolutionary terms, increased intelligence will not necessarily correlate to increased fitness (the passing on of genes, not physical ability).
Forced sterilization? There are some serious problems with the idea of even selective breeding:
- How to define stupidity - how much is ignorance, how much is lack of application, how much is having a 'smaller brain'?
- The fact even 'stupid' people can contribute positively to society
- How accurately can we really measure intelligence?
- How much of a role does nurtur
The idea that anyone goes into sex thinking "It's okay, I can just get an abortion later" is just laughable.
Contraceptive techniques are so much better than in past times that it should almost never be an issue nowadays. I say 'should' mostly because some idiotic but powerful groups out there constantly fight against its use, preach unreasonable solutions like abstin
The resources are available to:
- Teach kids about how important the decision to have children really is
- Teach about and provide for contraception
- Provide abortions for those who need them, without the type of bullshit seen in the OP's link
- Care for the few unwanted children who do end up remaining after the other steps
Instead they're appropriated to other areas (like fu
This is why I find it amazing that the top players can consistently get into Scion if they so please.
One leader demands this or that. Another leader thinks you're letting on that you know too much about the cabal before you join. The next thinks you don't know enough. This one only sees your losses and not your many victories, and thinks you're awful. That one strings you a

Now, not being privy to battle cabal chat I don't know the whole story. I'm not going to speculate, and for now I'm not going to say anything else other than that I was disappointed you didn't end up a leader, and I feel that what I saw in Mauz and a couple others lately (Akedeh, Atracius) were things far and above more positive than what I've seen from the village in qu
