Thrust you want if you are strongish, like a 23 str human, or giant. Chance to lag an opponent in combat if you are strong enough. That's the advantage to use thrust over serpent strike, which is just a nice damage attack. Not sure about the advantages to this over bearcharge, maybe good to do if you are smaller than the opponent. But don't practice if you are weakish.

I see tons of logs where as someone gets real hurt, the other gets off a nasty melee at the end and wins. What is this about? is there code that makes your defense weaker when your hurt - or is it a legacy (fires?)? or just RNG?

** Someone please explain the pincer at the end. Thieves should not fight whip specs. If you see a warrior with a whip, he's probably a whip spec, and he's probably going to entwine you if you don't get that whip from him. Again, though, it hurt being a thief without a reliable way to knockout, and waylay only gives you until the next tick, so with steal lag you can usually only ge
If I backstabbed, flee/knife, I would have traded knife damage for his kick damage (hurts svirfs!) and won, but was eager to try out my newly perfected weapontrip, and thought that just seemed easier. Instead it lagged me, I didn't hurt or lag him, and had to decide after two missed trips, do I flee and knife (had no healing preps) and hope that one more knife kills him and if not that one m

It depends how you want to play. Burst trap is key for when running - you flee, drop trap, they on you instantly, but hit the trap. A direction trap, they likely will be on you before you move one room over, and if they hit, you have to come back to get them too. Knock them out, plant traps, lead a mob to traps, kaboom. Put a trap at a crossroads, someone will hit it. If a damage burst trap is tr
Drow would be tough to do - but if you plan on fighting thieves and assassins your pocket faerie fire is nearly worth it.

I didn't have much success, but here's what others have posted and what I learned.
You want less armor because of Smear Mud (which makes it hard to kot/kans your wrists, and some have said bash for your body, maybe strangle your neck, you get the idea) and War Paint, which boosts your morale, intimidates your opponent, and I really don't know what else. There is a balance there

The days of giants insta-tooling everyone are over. Not just hit, but dex improved - higher dex, means you'll hit more often and need less hitroll. Lower dex, you'll hit less (at least when fighting higher dex shifter forms and warriors/rangers - oh and transmuters!) unless you have good hitroll to compensate. Supposedly it evens out because high str still means higher dam. That's
