Recruiters say things like "Don't become arrogant after boot camp" because that comment plants the seed in your mind that "I have a reason to be arrogant when I leave boot camp." It's a sales and marketing ploy to make you feel like you'll be a badass because you managed to get through boot camp, regardless of whether or not you really are.
There's a not insignificant number of women who will just do whatever they can to marry a person in the military because even in the event of a divorce it's a free paycheck for life. Double bonus points if you get pregnant from one. It would not surprise me at all to hear that his wife is one of these women.
If she's seriously unproductive and a net drain on your life then even though it'll suck your life will be better without that albatross around your neck.
Step 2: Do whatever the fuck you want because you're 22 and single. Travel, bang chicks...
Step 3: Never underestimate the value of doing "nothing."
It was in a state where it was hard to evict (NC I think). The trick is, you still own the doors. When you take the front door with you the people tend to relocate pretty quickly.
Seems like an interesting idea. There's been some minimal traction so I would assume that some sort of legislative or judicial action will stamp it out pretty quickly.
In my psych class in high school the teacher singled me out and said I was the only person she didn't mind seeing not take notes because she recognized me as such an auditory learner that taking notes actually reduced my ability to learn the material. Admittedly, people like me are really rare though.
What state level changes to insurance law occurred in your sister's state? What specific provisions in the ACA caused an increase in costs for the insurance provider?
Instead of looking at my premium changed by X and my copay changed by Y, what is the total nominal change in your health care costs this year vs last? Where do those changes come from?
It's just all this talk of the sky falling is ridiculous. There's some good parts in the ACA and some bad parts. A lot of things are being attributed to the ACA by employers and even health insurance providers which there is no logical sense in associating the two. Take a look, for example, at Nurok's post below where his employer gave him a pay cut under the guise of "avoi

My company nixed benefits for spouses in the event that the spouse is able to receive ANY health insurance from their employer (Because my company does not want to pay the NEW taxes on un-needed individuals on their plan)
Presumably there's a knowable cash value for the benefits your wife was receiving. Since they dropped that benefit did you receive a pay raise equivalent to t
And these days if you have the most minor/common stuff the grocery store generally has a nurse practitioner that will give you the most common scripts. I like seeing these types of transitions and IMHO is where we'll start really saving money. If only it were more wide-spread.
I mean that's the point of the deductible, right? Because you have to pay the *actual* cost of your health care. So if you go for the sniffles, you're paying for that out of pocket. However, if you get the proverbial cancer/train wreck/etc then your risk is your yearly maximum out of pocket.
People complaining seem to be suggesting that they're now going to be having a deduct
Presumably your sister's $120/mo plan met the minimum requirements of a "quality" plan under the ACA. There's no reason why she shouldn't haven't able to keep the same or very similar plan.
I'm dating a girl that's 31 with no serious health issues afaik. She is an independent contractor that previously did not carry health insurance. Since Obamacare is coming "online" she went and purchased coverage. She does not qualify for any of the low income aid or any other special programs that I'm aware of. The price of her coverage is $50/mo. I have no idea how
The 700% figures are a flagrant misrepresentation of what's really happening to people in this country. Is it happening to a very small percentage of people who had such pitifully bad insurance that they were effectively uninsured? Yes, yes it is. If I was paying $10/mo for the worst health insurance known to man and now I'm going to pay $70/mo I had a 700% increase but my nominal co
I'm a relatively conservative dater but it doesn't bother me if a woman has had 20 partners, 50, or even 100+. The fact that one of them might have been a rape doesn't impact what I think about her whatsoever as a partner.
People have different thresholds on what they think is an okay "number" of partners but I've never heard anyone suggest that a rape victim is
I say that the ACA was practically written by the health insurance industry and you respond by showing how much more they are going to be charging.
The only logical group that should be seeing any significant changes in their premium prices are the ones that had the lowest quality coverage before, since now the minimum threshold is higher. For everyone else, which is the vast majority of peop
