I believe in some sort of intelligent design/an architect/creator of everything we know and see.
I'm fascinated by the historicity of the Christian religion (of which, say, Mormonism lacks if you will). There is an authenticity and accuracy there that many other religions lack.
I know my own life and my own testimony. I know the testimonies of many other non-churched, secular people coming to Christ.
I see the impact of missions in crazy places and am continually impressed at the honesty and change it brings to people. I've also felt the emptiness of lost places and have first and second hand accounts of a very real darkness of lost nations.
I believe in, well, a greater purpose and liken it to a divine purpose.
I read about eschatology, the end times, and see just how eerily accurate it depicts 'armageddon'. The bible writes about Iran and Russia (along with 5 or so other countries) rising against Israel. Iraq is purposefully not mentioned there which is interesting considering our efforts to democratize Iraq. The correlation with that and current world politics is crazy.
I read about Abraham, father of nations, and how his son Ishmael, whose mother was Hagar and Abraham's servant,(who Muslims identify with) will be at odds with his son Isaac, whose mother was Sarai and Abraham's wife (who Jews and Christians trace back to). This is because Abraham chose to disobey God and did not trust. Really neat stuff when you take it in the context of today's unrest around the world with Islam and Judaism/Christianity.
There is a ton of crazy neat stuff. If you haven't read the bible, which honestly even most Christians don't do, I highly encourage you to at delve into it and pick it apart. It will change your perspective on a lot of things. Don't get me wrong - religion has tons and tons of bad things, baggage, errors, and misgivings about it. So set your perspective of 'religion' aside and spend some time in honestly studying it (if you haven't already).
Time to go home. If you want to have an actual discussion, holler. I'll do whatever I can to add to it.
