Do I agree the climate change is happening? Sure, the climate changes every day. Yesterday the forecaster said it was 45, today it's 47. Boom, climate change.
The big stink about human-caused climate change was started in 1988. This was a year of a great heat wave, and a climatologist named James Hansen published a report that the earth had heated up .5-.7 degrees in the last century. And the four warmest years on record were all in the 1980s. Mind you, the span of dates of measurements he used were from 1880-1985. The earth is 4.5 billion years old. I think a sample of 100 years out of 4.5 billion is very misleading. Hansen was then proved wrong when the earth cooled slightly during the Mt. Pinatubo eruption of 1992 and the El Nino of the late 90s.
The media has taken hold of the climate change story ever since and the fearmongers in charge hold that over us everytime little Betty gets a goddamn sun tan, and little Billy is shooting lava waves from his mother fucking eyes.
So yeah, every stupid climate change story you get in your Time magazines and your Newsweeks is thanks to James Hansen, in 1988, the year crack ruled.
