We are actively changing our climate. There is NO doubt.

November 27, 2009 05:00AM
Before reading this ask yourself - can we really pave the world in concrete, pour light into the sky and drive around pumping out excess gasses without have ANY effect on the world around us?

How is it 6 billion people can do this, and not expect the world to change in response? The answer is they're kidding themselves. They want to avoid guilt.

1. Increased amounts of carbon dioxide, decreased amounts of ozone (though this is reversing) and increased sulphides in the atmosphere are all human made. There is NO doubt about this.

2. It is well proven that increased CO2 causes a greenhouse effect. Even if it is simply 1 degree difference, this actually has a profound effect on wild life. See the mass bleaching of coral reefs across the world. That is evidence you cannot argue with.

3. This has all happened over such a short time scale, that the ecological effects can be seen by all. More variable weather, periods of unusual warmth, sea temperature has risen, etc. A lot of people try the well spread propoganda line 'But where's the evidence? These guys are being paid to hawk this theory!'. This is the opposite of the truth - that there are scientist being paid by people to DEBUNK climate change. The truth is that the people who will suffer the most from having to cut pollution are the ones with huge amounts of money. Not the scientists who believe and know otherwise. The evidence is there. You only need to google it for yourself. And I urge you to do so, don't live in the shadows. You will find a lot of the propoganda based on basic truths (example: The last ice age was sudden. So could the next one be.). But thinking about it for two minutes, you'll see there is no relation between such facts - making sudden changes sound plausible /= us not being at fault for sudden changes occuring. The evidence to the contrary is far stronger.

Enjoy.

morocco November 26, 2009 01:15PM

The core samples only show that there was more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere

larrygroznic November 26, 2009 01:27PM

Well that's almost impossible to "prove", seeing how complex the atmosphere is

morocco November 26, 2009 01:39PM

Why don't you do some proper research, instead of sounding off like a tool?

Jatropha November 26, 2009 11:40AM

Too bad 99% of the scientific community doesn't believe that climate change is human-caused

larrygroznic November 26, 2009 11:45AM

Fine, then. A significant majority (that is not 99%) of the scientific community thinks there is a causal link.
