You hit the nail on the head with built in instant gratification. Example: I can't tell what an item will even do until I'm a level 15 mage, or a level XXX non mage who spambots Lore until it's reliable. That's a terrible curve to rub your face on if you're new. Most of the gear in the new areas are worse than the starting gear you get out of the academy and because level
Wielding a metal weapon will give you a penalty when ambushing, but combat will otherwise be the same. Non-metal weapons implore no bonuses, but rather keeps you at the status quo. Metal armour however will apply more combat penalties just for wearing them. I think you'll also hit some snags with creeping as well if wearing a lot of metal.
Now that I'm into my 30's, I've realized that finding new music suddenly isn't a natural gift or talent anymore like when you're younger. I like asking people around me all the time what they've been into lately and sometimes I get some fascinating results.
Personally, I've been into a few bands like the following:
1) TesseracT -
2) Porcupine Tree -
It's noon and I haven't had any yet so bear with me here....
Some ways down I started a thread about getting accustomed to PK and combat in general. How to not freak out, what kinds of builds are condusive to getting comfortable, building confidence etc.
Murphy made some good points about Savage Rangers and I was curious; I tried rangers before and granted, they had crazy PvE qua
I actually thought about going back to the beginning of the most recent boards and just giving a bunch of +1's to old posts to see if there's a specific post count needed for an account to trigger PM status. I don't want to 'earn' it in bad faith though, that's just not good mojo.
I also thought of having some sort of contact directory, but that may also be consi
I find this somewhat of a barrier to good information. Sometimes there's menial questions I have but don't feel like embarrassing myself on the front page with. (Especially since I don't have the playerbase on AIM) However with that said, I definitely can see how having them on new account creation would be abused.
One thing I've struggled to come to grips with is how to not FREAK OUT when someone attacks you. Since half the time, I'm somewhere where I don't know where I am, I tend to panic, mash flee and run in a direction to try to get away (this is usually if I can't conceal myself and hide it out somehow.)
To try and get over this, I think the best way to fight a fear is to headbu
Because firstly, if you're underwater, you're going to be spending a significant time alone which sometimes I find very appealing. Secondly, I picture it in my head like having the underwater equivalent of the forest of nowhere all to yourself to go crazy on and rank up in form at a pretty good rate.
With that said, and with respects that this likely sounds like a request for a silve
It seems that low level shifters (tier 4 and 3) are still quite weak compared to their non mage equivalent (say a warrior vs an offence form of the same level).
-When do Shifters hit their power point where they can start doing things independently? (and by independently, I mean independently with some degree of efficiency and don't have ultra-elite cursory knowledge of the game. :p)

Because a conjie , at least until getting archons, will probably be taking a few good shots, how do they typically dress? I don't think you can order all to tank for you like a druid can, so when you don't have your angelic slaves dam reducing and healing you like crazy, what do you typically do?
The FAQ on the left suggests in one case to 'dress like a warrior'. Or would y
A lot of the information on the left is now outdated. The levels at which you receive some skills aren't updated (parry on mages for starters) and the race/class page is off with the changes to arials and halfbreeds etc.
Imperials are like the Empire in Star Wars. The stormtroopers still have laws and rules that they have to follow to please their leader. It's almost like communism. They're following order and existing and behaving within predefined bounderies in order to push an over all evil agenda.
Chaotic evil would be more inclined to individuality, self fulfilling goals at any means necessary.
I was wondering if anyone had a big bowl full of Bard to spoonfeed me?
Specifically, I was interested about races and alignment and how they differ for bard builds.
I remember a long time ago it was almost standard to go human for the charisma, but I recall someone saying that elves are great now also. I'm wondering if that is because of edge specificities or due partly from a mechan
More weapons that are attainable at low-ish levels would be nice. One thing I encountered is a lot of the gear I find in the areas level appropriate for me are mostly garbage.
That was part of my point. I wasn't trying to be a drama queen or anything. I just wanted to give some feedback from my point of view. There were no meltdowns had in game or anything of the sort. The Imm at the time recognized that I got whupped pretty hard in what was very close intervals and asked if I needed any help with anything.
What I took away from it was that being a character
I'm aware that you can role-play being a grotesque war machine of death. That's definitely fine and I have no issues with that. However, you still have the powers of choice and decision as a player to chose to go out of your way to repeatedly kill the same person who, as it stood, wasn't anywhere near you at the time before combat was initiated.
Watching you fight a number of g
