I watched this video for a couple of reasons:
1) I think CF is a type of MUD that shares a lot in common with Roguelikes, specifically that there are permanent consequences to death and with other players the experience is different every time, and...
2) Anything about reviving a genre is interesting, given that so much of the stuff about MUDs lately is about the death of the genre.
The video itself focuses on usability, which is a thing I tried to outline in my "client problem" post a while back. Telnet is a dying/dead protocol. Installing a client to play a game online is almost unthinkable in for someone of today. There are a couple of MUDs that have really nice web clients. In fact I've played two recently (one of which is a CF clone) which had web clients that I found superior to the experience of a traditional client. Usability matters, and I would never have spent any time on them if it wasn't for their web clients.
What are other ways CF could improve usability beyond solving the client/telnet problem?
